The whole idea of WB selling itself to the highest bidder was always shytty. But I will say, Netflix is a way better winner than the Ellisons. Not saying they're the best option or actually good, but twenty times better than the alternative

Saudi Money :scusthov: , the Trump connects which would turn the whole shyt into another MAGA service, and the fact that David Ellison is the real life Boss Baby :snoop:. After seeing that Ellison's First 100 Days at Paramount article, I'm good. No thanks

They’ll probably be good until their current deal expires but after that I’m sure WWE has a clause in place that Netflix can’t air any other wrestling promotions under their umbrella.

If Dune 3 goes straight to streaming, I may have to buy a Luigi hat and take a trip.

In their official announcement, Netflix said it “expects to maintain Warner Bros.’ current operations” and “build on its strengths, including theatrical releases for films.” Netflix added that the acquisition will also allow the company to “significantly expand U.S. production capacity.”

I was gonna say as long as they don’t get rid of theatrical releases, I don’t care…

But I barely go to the theater anymore anyway :mjcry:

Trump and his thugs lose more often than they win in court, way more. It's only when checks and balances to oversee situations arise that they get away with breaking the law, since they're the overseers. Whether it's withholding funds from colleges or deporting people after judge's orders. If an outside party is the overseer there's not much underhanded shyt they can do, which is why they lose. Not to mention fukking with a Netflix is a different than school research relying on kickbacks and immigrants. Still, I'm interested to see what provisions Netflix gives up to make the thugs happy or if they're ready to go court. A few weeks ago reports said they didn't want the fight, we'll see

Netflix was best option of the 3. Comcast were in the middle east looking for loans just to be competitive and Saudis were helping back the Ellisons. Anything that keeps institutional media away from Saudis in the shadows is a win, even if Netflix will starting digital cable prices in the next 5-8 years

And idk if Max is a top 3 streamer. Maybe in operations, size, etc but there was a chart for potential viewers for either 2025 or for most recent years and Max was in the bottom quarter of the list. More than a few platforms outranked Max even with mlb & hockey. It's still the #1 absorbing another in the field so that'll always get looks and maybe if it was 2018 Max it'd be red flags, Max in 25/26 isn't a strong platform and this is more for the library than taking a "competitor" out

Whoa

Netflix... the real evil empire :ohhh:

Remember when everyone thought it was Walmart
Walmart got beat at their own game. At this point the real evil empires will arrive.

Expect to see Darth Vader pull up on the white house lawn one of these days:mjlol:
