With Netflix, the industry feels like there's a high chance the theaters become obsolete as Sarandos has made it known through his words and actions that theaters aren't necessary for the movie experience.

While with Paramount there's the very real concern that they'll be a push for MAGA shyt, at least the theater industry won't have its throat slit.

Theaters wont come obsolete. Too much real estate $$$ at stake, a lot of directors and even actors wont do roles if they dont get theatrical releases

Trump allegiances are temporary and transactional. Paramount has been around for 110 years. Netflix dismantling the movie industry is forever.

It is very difficult to unravel a monopoly once it’s in place. The movie industry’s decline is going to happen with or without Netflix. Gen Z is full of loners who are not communal. However, if we give MAGA this level of control it will have generational effects on the US.

Apple should have bought WB/HBO years ago. They wanted to get in on "prestige TV" and it has never worked for them. They spent billions on shows and only a couple of their shows has ever moved the needle. They needed HBO and all of that IP Warner Bros. owns.

I get Apple don't like buying shyt but this would have made a lot of sense for them
