For all the folks that are saying we vote for a puppet, what about the midterms where it really matters? Participation sucks for those, and they tend to have more effect on a regional level.

While we're at it, I think presidential terms should be 5 years...

The first two are after shocks from the previous administration and the last two are for going more center of the base policy wise and preparing for the next election.

We should also get rid of term limits, if the president is power hungry, let's let him rig elections until he dies

We shouldn't make it mandatory, we should definitely make it easier tho...absolutely no excuse with the technology we have and the impact each election has.

There should be less voting if anything, it ought to be over the age of 25, have a job, and have an IQ over a certain amount. When I hear what comes out of some peoples mouths when it comes to politics I cringe.

Instead of making it mandatory just make it easier.

Give us the day off.

Let us vote anywhere.

Remove the electoral college.

Remove the (D) or (R) next to the candidates.

They would need to give us the day off and move voting day to Wednesday. If it stayed on a Tuesday folks would take Monday off and go on a vacation.

Like someone said, make America take the day off the first Tuesday of every November.

If they want more people voting, they need to make election week. People are very busy during the week and extending the window might improve turnout

Because "everyone" can't be off the same one day to vote. I work in a hospital and people have to be there everyday as the hospital can't close so I say do a week or a couple days and every person is allowed one voting day where they get the day off.

I don't know how it is in the US, but in Canada, they have voting polls within walking distance. I literally cross the street to the building across from me and vote *shrug* it really doesn't take more than 10 minutes.

It's still actually funny that people think voting in modern day matters. Thanks to people with more money than one could reasonably spend in a lifetime, many of the bills that would make meaningful change will never see the light of day.
