There should be less voting if anything, it ought to be over the age of 25, have a job, and have an IQ over a certain amount. When I hear what comes out of some peoples mouths when it comes to politics I cringe.

Wrong. you do realize presidents have changed things that affect student loans(government loans), pell grants, etc.

you do realize if say obama pushes for free Junior Colleges and it passes. This is something that affects people under the age of 25 also.

you do realize what obama actually did with how credit cards have to show you a different type of statement affects college age kids(under 25). because thats usually when you get your first CC which you know little to nothing about.

there are all sorts of policies that will affect you today even if you're 18. there are policies a pres can enact that can affect you a few years down the road once you hit 25. wouldnt you want a say ? i know i would.


Now again with that said, yall are correct. most people have no idea what or who they are voting for or thats the reason why they dont vote because they are atleast smart enough to realize they dont know so why vote the wrong way. BUT if it was mandatory. what would also need to be mandatory is all americans would have to constantly take Political Science classes starting in grade school. This would guarantee that by the time you hit 18.. you would know enough about politics to make an informed decision. Now i would also say make people go to a mandatory voters class leading up to the elections. it could be 2 hours long. doesnt need to be any longer then that for people to understand the basics of what and who they are voting for/and on.

In theory it's a great idea. Realistically, people are more corcerned with Kardashians than politics. So saturating the voting block with people who are easily manipulated or uninformed, or both, would not be that great an idea.
