I doubt it especially back then. Nike was the biggest player in town and they assumed everybody would trip over themselves to sign with them no matter what.

Steph also wasn’t high priority at the time and was already wearing their shoes anyway, so he probably did little to no prep for the meeting. Which means it is his fault at the end of the day
