people were calling MJ the goat entertainer and the King of Pop looong before he passed :dahell:

His personal life was a walking punch line but not his performers. Most normal people are able to separate the too.

And I'm no mj stan either. He was too much of a self hater.

MJ was called the “king of pop” 30+ years ago, just like Elvis was called “the king” in the years that preceded MJ. A lot has changed since the past. Besides, people were not focusing on MJ’s past greatness in his later years. Again, saying that Bey is a better live performer than MJ is an entirely valid claim.

Exactly!!

And the thing I also noticed is that people are actually making stronger points for Prince being better than her, than they are for MJ. They’re talking about his actual skill more than they are for MJ. Which is very telling.
I’m a Prince stan more than an MJ stan (obviously) but MJ is the blueprint for modern performers and entertainers.

When MJ performed, everybody and they mama went or watched. If I told my grandma that MJ is performing she’d tell me to put it on the TV...

Nobody is checking for a Beyonce performance, album, movie, anything except females and feminine nikkas

She’s dope, don’t get me wrong. I’m not a fan or a hater, I rarely think of her except when I @Beyonce Knowles-Carter or think of Jayz getting his ass beat by her sister. She’s up there but no MJ or Prince.

Of course younger folks who weren’t there in the 80s early 90s think the current best is better than the guy they grew up looking at as a carny act who’s claim to
fame was having little boys in secret hideaway rooms because they weren’t there for his peak

That’s not talking about actual skill. What you said is about other people’s reactions to him.. which is basically the same posts I’ve seen over and over in defense of MJ. We know of his impact on others. That can’t be denied.

Bey is simply not on their level. In terms of voice, she is no prime Whitney or Mariah. In terms of impact & dance, she is no prime MJ or Janet. In terms of songwriting & pure talent, she is no Prince. And her discography is not timeless compared to theirs either.

In terms of her peers, I personally would pop in a Aaliyah or Brandy album before Bey. I personally would attend an Erykah Or Jill Scott concert before Bey.

Bey’s status among objective music lovers would be a lot better if y’all quit comparing her to greats and/or trying to push other artists down to lift Bey up. You guys ask to be dragged every single time. For Bey’s sake, stop it!

Hatin ass post :russ:

Some refuse to give credit. Beyoncé has tours bigger than every named mentioned but somehow she's not on their level

You have to really understand something. No other artist other than MJ has their own signature dance style. Example if I say "Do the Michael Jackson" there is a whole series of moves you can do that only belong to him.

th

th

Nicca...do the Usher? Do the Chris Brown? Do the Beyonce? Yeah they all got moves, but they are not SIGNATURE to the point of when you see it, you only think of them...and MJ has more than one or two, he has dozens. There is no comparison.

Reactions that nobody has watching Beyonce

And having that big of an impact IS a skill.

But if you want to talk about performances I rather watch MJ doing crazy ass dance moves, inventing a fukking shoe just so he can do his standing lean shyt, and spinning around like a gotdamn ballerina to Beyonce shaking her ass. (Even though it’s nice to look at)

He's also wrong, cause there's a 10 page thread in the booth (35 post per page) of dudes who stayed up and watched her performance. Plenty of dudes check for beyonce.

You still don’t get it. So we will just have to agree to disagree.

Coachella really has the WOAT crowd. That performance deserved an audience who could actually understand/appreciate what she was doing
