Yeah like so many others have said, getting hyped releases are few, far, and in between.
Its sadly hilarious when I get notifications from GOAT saying "X just released, go and cop" as if its retail and not the $200 mark up. Its so easily to resell online sneakers now that a small child could do it.
Pre GOAT/STOCK X, it was pretty much EBAY as the main source for buying resell, if you missed a release, you could always try fighclub as well which had high resell prices but not too bad given the times. But ebay started getting flooded with fakes, and people needed a safer way to know they were not getting taken advantage of with the sneakers along with Hypebeast killing the game as well...
Gotta follow the money, Adidas and Nike have stock in goat/stock x. The seller fees and buyer fees are insane, sometimes you lose more money than you gain when you're reselling because people don't really have the disposable income to sit on the shoes for a while and need to make their money back.
My motto is "if I can't get for retail, move on oh well".. Too many people give in to the hype, pay ridiculous resell prices and have buyers remorse.
