Brehs, correct me if I'm wrong but did Pippen's game have any weakness?

POTENTIALLY, YES..IT WOULD BE ANOTHER WESTBROOK-DURANT SITUATION, AS PIPPEN WAS CLEARLY ON ALL THEIR LEVEL. MJ WAS TOO, UNTIL PIPPEN HELPED ELEVATE HIM TO THAT NEXT TIER.
:usure: so you think Pippen was better scorer than Malone, Robinson, Hakeem...etc?

You know that Pippen averaged only 22 and 21.4 ppg as the Bulls first scoring option (during Mike retirement) right?

:heh: @ these young nikkas saying Scottie could't shoot
Scottie wasn't 'great' shooter imo, he did improve his J from when he first came in league though, he was better in the post and open floor, weak points were J and handles if you had to find something, I'm not saying he was trash in those areas by any means.

Pip really was not better than mike on d.
Mike is the original glove.

To the point mj wants his nickname back from payton.
Pip gained enfamy from sticking magic in the finals.
Which made more sense as pip was a cut down on the size and length mismatch that magic had on ANY AND EVERY BACKCOURT IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA.

Art Barr

I disagree, the media upped MJ on everything to the point that we all think he is the best at everything. Everytime the Bulls needed a shutdown on a player they stuck Pippen on em.. not mike

MJ WAS A GREAT DEFENSIVE PLAYER, BUT HIS DEFENSE WAS OVERSTATED .. MJ WON DPOY IN HIS 4TH SEASON, WELL BEFORE REACHIN HIS PRIME .. IT WAS AROUND THE TIME STERN BEGAN SHOVIN HIM DOWN THE GENERAL PUBLICS THROATS. PIPPEN WAS A MUCH MORE VERSATILE DEFENDER, LONGER, MOVED BETTER LATERALLY..MJ MIGHTA BEEN THE BETTER HELP DEFENDER, BUT THATS ABOUT IT.

200 hundred steals and 100 blocked shots by a guard isn't overstating things at all, especially when you take into account that Wade was the only other guard to achieve that feat.

Pippen was the Thresh of basketball.

You want to ignore him and kill the ADC, (Jordan) but he just kept blocking you and getting you out of position.

Then once you finally shut jordan down, you get a big ass well of pippen on the pick.

He is a damn good support.

Mental toughness would be the only criticism that could be made, but that's somewhat overhyped too :jbhmm:

Physically, he was literally a taller version of Mike as he had absorbed Jordans game so completely during their run. Which is why they were pretty much unbeatable.

Even still..

Let's not pretend he wasn't an MVP candidate the Jordan retirement year :umad:

Let's not pretend the league didn't gift the Knicks a trip to the Finals on that bytch ass Hubert Davis foul :umad:

LOL PEOPLE REALLY UNDERRATING PIPPEN ON HERE SMH .. A FRANCHISE PLAYER WHO PLAYED AS A SECOND OPTION ONLY BECAUSE MJ WAS ON HIS TEAM .. BUT HE WAS JUST AS IMPORTANT TO THE BULLS SUCCESS AS ANYBODY

POTENTIALLY, YES..IT WOULD BE ANOTHER WESTBROOK-DURANT SITUATION, AS PIPPEN WAS CLEARLY ON ALL THEIR LEVEL. MJ WAS TOO, UNTIL PIPPEN HELPED ELEVATE HIM TO THAT NEXT TIER.

You can't be serious. Pippen would've even been a 2nd option playing with ANY of Run-TMC.

Their games were nothing alike. Post-up, midrange, finisher in traffic was MJ. Pippen thrived in the open and is only true offensive arsenal was the pull-up bank from like 12' in. His post game was good, but that was mostly because he just shot over you. He wasn't backing down creating something from the post. It was post you low, catch-turn-around bank, or pump-turn-around-bank. You know what? I wouldn't even say he was good at breaking you off the dribble.

He could run an offense, and he could play defense. I think he's overrated. He's may not even be Top 10 SF.

Any of you oldheads remember this series? Everybody was talking up Mark Jackson and Pippen spent the whole series clowning on him:

I couldn't find that one play where Pippen waved everyone off and took his shyt like it was foretold by the Lord himself that the steal was coming

All three of these quotes by you are made in the vein of a Kobe Stan who knows he was never as good as mike.
You and the false forced narrative are on bullshyt and you know it.
Get over it,....kobe is not better than air Jordan.

Art Barr

LOL DIDNT MENTION KOBE ONCE, BUT SINCE U BROUGHT HIM UP, UNLIKE JORDAN, KOBE WAS GUARDIN THE OPPOSING TEAMS BEST PERIMETER PLAYER .. DIDNT HAVE A PIPPEN TO HOLD HIM DOWN. AND THIS WAS IN THE 2000S, AFTER SOME MAJOR PHYSICAL AND STRATEGICAL ADVANCEMENTS TO THE GAME FROM WHEN MJ WAS PLAYIN

actually he wasnt a good free throw shooter at all. It's funny how much the lower the mvp standards were back then. 22 8 and 5 is what he averaged when Jordan retired. Hell, Draymond averages 14, 9 and 7.

BETTER ALL-AROUND, NOT BETTER SCORER .. KAWHI WAS A GOOD COMPARISON. ONE WOULDA SAID ADLRIDGE IS A MUCH BETTER SCORER LAST SEASON WHEN THEY WERE ON SEPERATE TEAMS .. BUT LOOK WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THEY GOT TOGETHER. ALSO, DURANT SCORES MORE THAN WESTBROOK, BUT WHY U THINK EVERY1 SAYIN WESTBROOK HAD THE BETTER SEASON? GAME IS NOT ALL ABOUT SCORING
