Brehs, correct me if I'm wrong but did Pippen's game have any weakness?

Pippen had problems guarding players with post up ability.Penny used to do him dirty.

Jamal Mashburn had Pip getting T'd up right here....in route to dropping 50 on him

I always liked Pip, tho.

Speaking of Jamal Mashburn, he'd be a lethal PF/C in today's game.Only 6'8, but he could handle the ball, rebound, post up, and shoot the 3.

I think he'd be a better version of Paul Millsap

Pippen wasn't better than either. Dirk is a proven 1st option on a championship team. Pippen is a second option and even if you say KG isn't the guy to lead you to a ring as a 1st option, he's a better second option than Pippen.
I disagree with this pippen as a first option in his prime.

I mean dude could literally score on an elite level, play defense on an elite level, threat from 3, good free throw shooter, good rebounder, great passer, high basketball IQ. What am I missing? Was there any weaknesses there?

Yeah we never really saw what he could do as a first option other than that one year, and it was impressive. But he clearly wasn't a better scorer than KG or Dirk...especially Dirk.

Im not sure I agree with this he simply was extremely unselfish and did not look for his own shot alot which is why he was a perfect compliment to mj.

I don't see his game similar to Millsap. Paul is a far better rebounder/defender and a legit big man despite his lack of size (pause).

Mash reminds me of a lesser Carmelo tbh :manny:

Melo's more of a jab step and shoot guy

Mash was more interior/post oriented.

His game was smooth, yet plodding at the same time.

I think he'd average more rebounds in today's game

Well Melo is a better shooter :manny: But can also bully guy in the post. A younger Melo was also someone who played often in the interior but became more of a 3pt-long 2-midrange guy in NY.

Mash also wasn't the most efficient guy as well, his most efficient seasons came in Miami when he was the 2nd/3rd option behind Zo and/or Tim Bug.

I don't think Mash would do damage on the boards but as a stretch 4 in this league, he could eat. But he'd get eaten on D as I never remember him being potent on that side.

I think the Melo comparison is better than Millsap :manny:

Dirk is 50-40-90 club. 6th all time scoring list. Iconic unguardable go-to move.

25ppg in the playoffs with every defensive gameplan focused on stopping him.

But you think Pippen is a better scorer? :mjlol:
