Damn some how I need to get my money bacc from the collection agency’s I paid. I paid $578 for the AT&T one and $248 for the discover one. I used a chime account and it’s hard to dispute charges. They haven’t taken out the $99 a month yet dat don’t start till the 3rd.

I’m not on no deadline I’m not tryna make any major purchases just tryna improve it by da time I do.

Yes please send me that validation letter.
bruh thats why im confused. if you paid $578 for the AT&T and $248 for the discover, there should be nothing else for them to dispute. Those accounts should now be settled.

Those were your only 2 negatives...so why they still got you on a $99/mo payment plan??????

I'll copy my letter here later tonight

This is what kept me from having good credit.

Don’t keep it at 0, just under 10%. I’ve done it twice since I’ve been an adult. fukked my credit up to the point of it being like 480-520ish.

Let some cash stack up in a 457b (or a shoebox if op about that life). Plan on making sure all bills are caught up simultaneously, take a bunch of money and make sure to pay off any outstanding loans (good standing or not). I Paid off like 98% of credit card debt, let it sit for a month, watched all three credit numbers jump from low 500’s to 720+.

The smart way to do it is to be on top of all that shyt from the jump, and stay on top of it.

For anybody stressing about it, yes, bad credit can close some doors for you, but it’s not permanent or the end of the world if you apply yourself to getting right over a 6+ month period. It doesn’t make you a bad person, just decide you want it to be better and start orienting your life towards digging yourself out of that hole.

Dispute anything that doesn’t seem right. Don’t be afraid to call a creditor and see if they’ll remove negative history if you can pay it off or settle, even collections because they can be desperate to get paid anything at all.

If it was me, i'd stop paying that credit repair company. They will have you paying month after month for years if u let them. Especially not for only 2 deragatory items. fukk that.

u got 2 collections. The one from AT&T and the Discover one. totalling $1500

go to annualcreditreport.com and pull your full reports for free and look at which companies are trying to collect. Basically you need to cut out the middle man.

1. Find the name of that company and send them that validation letter. If you need one, i'll find one of my old ones and paste it here
2. wait about 30 days and see if you get something back in the mail or check if they removed it from your reports.

Unless you are up against a deadline and need to pay these collections off fast (like if you're about to move to a new place) I would do my strategy instead. It might take a few months, but atleast you arent paying some random company $100 a month to stick a letter in the mail for you.

Definitely agree that Credit repair companies are kind of scammy. They don’t do anything we can’t already do. They just spam dispute lol.

The deeper you get into the credit game you realize the variety of your credit history holds more weight than just the score itself

Ie favorable home loan , car installment histories etc are more valuable than a higher score ONLY through credit cards

Date:
Your Name
Your Address
Your City, State, Zip
Collection Agency Name
Collection Agency Address
Collection Agency City, State, Zip
RE: Account # (Fill in Account Number)
To Whom It May Concern:
Be advised this is not a refusal to pay, but a notice that your claim is disputed and validation is
requested. Under the Fair Debt collection Practices Act (FDCPA), I have the right to request validation
of the debt you say I owe you. I am requesting proof that I am indeed the party you are asking to pay this
debt, and there is some contractual obligation that is binding on me to pay this debt.
This is NOT a request for “verification” or proof of my mailing address, but a request for VALIDATION
made pursuant to 15 USC 1692g Sec. 809 (b) of the FDCPA. I respectfully request that your offices
provide me with competent evidence that I have any legal obligation to pay you.
At this time I will also inform you that if your offices have or continue to report invalidated information
to any of the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian, Trans Union), this action might constitute
fraud under both federal and state laws. Due to this fact, if any negative mark is found or continues to
report on any of my credit reports by your company or the company you represent, I will not hesitate in
bringing legal action against you and your client for the following: Violation of the Fair Debt Collection
Practices Act and Defamation of Character.
I am sure your legal staff will agree that non-compliance with this request could put your company in
serious legal trouble with the FTC and other state or federal agencies.
If your offices are able to provide the proper documentation as requested in the following declaration, I
will require 30 days to investigate this information and during such time all collection activity must cease
and desist. Also, during this validation period, if any action is taken which could be considered
detrimental to any of my credit reports, I will consult with legal counsel for suit. This includes any listing
of any information to a credit-reporting repository that could be inaccurate or invalidated. If your offices
fail to respond to this validation request within 30 days from the date of your receipt, all references to this
account must be deleted and completely removed from my credit file and a copy of such deletion request
shall be sent to me immediately.
It would be advisable that you and your client assure that your records are in order before I am forced to
take legal action.

Here is decent one i found on Google. Everybody can copy this into Microsoft Word, replace the information at the top with your info and mail it to the debt collector as soon as they come for you.

ALWAYS ALWAYS send it via certified mail bc under FCRA and FDCPA they have to respond back in a certain amount of time.

When in doubt send this letter to any debt collector that tries to fukk with you. Dont talk to them over the phone bc you dont want to be recorded admitting to the debt or saying something stupid.

Just say "Put me on your DO NOT CALL LIST...communicate only through writing" and then hang up

Yea mane dey explained it but I’m not to hip in credit jargon. But it definitely wasn’t a settle for less or pay to delete cuz they wouldn’t have to dispute anything. And it’s a 99 a month payment plan for both of em too. Both of the credit collectors I called so $200 a month.

They use shyt called like standard score, credit sage and credit wellness llc. Dese are the names that appear under my transactions.

yeah your situation is different because you already paid. at this point its best just to make sure you paid the right people and then focus on building your credit right going forward.

I never heard of creditsage or credit wellness. That could be either credit monitoring or the name of their credit repair company.

DM me what they sent you and crop out your personal info...

My 2 credit cards rn I haven’t used in about 3 months. I keep the balance at 0. I’m saving them for a trip to chicago when I rent a car and need a security deposit. Should I do some small purchases just to have a balance ? They also never gave me bacc my security deposit after 6 months of on time payments for sum reason.

They didn’t send me anything besides an email saying “We've officially launched your credit repair journey by dispatching the first round of dispute letters to the Credit Bureaus! “ that’s from credit sage. And some login information and documents to sign.. smh I cancelled one credit repair company for a more expensive one
