TV is literally made for broke and unoccupied people.
Made as the successor to radio......... was unaffordable to most for the longest time.......I still remember the 13 inch black and white TV with the top dual and bottom dual that was a huge deal in my house........ that said...... naw........ that take ain't it

I am speaking on a contemporary note. The cost of television has dropped. Folks of all classes in America have multiple TVs in their homes.

Sports keeps people from wilding out. Literally people will merk their own entire families if the we lost power long enough. Also Ngl I used to shyt on sports when I was younger but the tension during the game and the release makes you feel like a winner even when you lose at life.

But no lie if you cut out internet and tv you can level up a little bit

Yup they call it "bread and circuses".

When you’re getting money like that you don’t even have time to watch tv like that. Let’s keep it real if the average person was highly productive and performing in their lives they wouldn’t have time to watch TV or play video games if we keeping it 100 and these businesses wouldn’t be making the amount of money that they do.

Everything is mentality and perspective at the end of the day and no gives a fukk what this nikka is sayin people going to what the fukk they want to do.

I agree with him and if you feel heard about what he's saying that he's probably speaking to you a little bit.

I remember when I had my first part-time job right out of high school working as a security guard and this was working with a bunch of dudes in their mid late 20s and early 30s, at the time I thought were cool because you know they had a job, they worked overtime had a little Honda Civics and shyt but as I got to know them just found out most of them were bums either on a divorce already had one or two kids they never saw and took care of and still living with their parents. No future plans in life

But just like this guy was talking about they know everything about sports, everything about the team everything, about the players lives on there, and not nothing you get from watching one game here or there but from just obsessing over a sport

I never forgot that was his one dude who trained me when I first started and he was probably about 27 at the time and it already been there for 10 years so since he was 17 years old so everybody knew him at the spot we're doing security at, and I thought he was pretty cool, I stayed at the job a few years and then I left got a degree and a career and one day probably five or six years after I left I randomly walked into a Burger King and out from the back pops this guy with the managers pin on his chest happy as shyt

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.

I work in finance and I disagree with him. All the white VPs and managers are die hard American sports fans.

The dudes you talking about were just flat out bums. At the end of the day whether you are a bum or not you will always find joy in some fort of entertainment.

It's hard to articulate, but I notice there's a strange culture being developed by social media that's trying to teach people to never be happy with themselves unless they've reached some idealized standard. People achieve things just to hop on TikTok and say you don't deserve anything if you're not rich enough, if you don't certain a job, if you don't look a certain way, etc. It's all incredibly toxic and for some reason it's actually resonating with people.

The wildest part is a lot of people don't even meet the standards they're agreeing with. The majority of young people are probably a paycheck away from being in trouble, yet they're co-signing this anti "broke" mentality. Just seems like a cycle of people wanting to feel better by fantasizing as if they're some elite group who can tell people how to live.

If you wanna be super literal in talks of productiveness … he is dead right. But if we want to use this logic, participating in any source of entertainment is time consuming and waste energy that could be devoted to something else. Playing a video game.. that’s not you. The character is winning. Watching Denzel in Equilizer.. that’s not you. That’s Denzel kicking ass and winning

I don’t watch sports. Except boxing. Partly because I only gotta watch Saturday. Sometimes I feel that way about all the team fanatic shyt with football and nfl.. “why people care so much bout these people? “.”they don’t care about you”.” Why people take this shyt so serious”. Questions I can ask myself

but it’s not practical because people need to debrief with something that has nothing to do with they real life, because life is hard all jobs don’t lead to $$$$ like that. But those are the same jobs we need people to work. I used to tell people this same thing and realized I’m being a hypocrite because I have my own vices that are time wasters. He sounds miserable to be around honestly. Nothing is just reserved for successful people. We all indulge in escapism. They act as if those other people are disposable and don’t share their work ethic.
