At least Murk has Kobe in the top 10. He should be ahead of Shaq and Curry on any list. You can argue he's better than Bird and Duncan too. I didn't see Russell, Wilt or Kareem, so it's hard to say who's better unless you just look at accomplishments and stats. But that don't tell the entire story. There's no way you can definitively place him above Shaq. Shaq had a higher peak, Shaq won more championships as a #1, and Kobe was Shaq's #2...
There's no way you can definitively place him over Duncan. Duncan's peak was in line with Kobe, Duncan won more championships as a #1. There was a stretch from 1998-99 thru 2003-04 where it was Duncan and Shaq as the best player in basketball. By the time Kobe ascended into that conversation in '05, he was doing shyt that neither Shaq or Duncan did at their apex---->missing the playoffs and losing in the first round...
I'm okay with any arrangement of Kobe, Shaq, and Duncan, they're interchangeable and I go back and forth on how I rank them myself. I lean Duncan ahead of both because Kobe and Shaq had each other, but if someone puts one of them a slot over Duncan, it's not the craziest thing...
It's at least a conversation with Steph, too. Steph peaked higher than Kobe and was the second best player if his era. Hakeem peaked higher than Kobe and was the second best player of his era. Both of those guys have various career accomplishments that can be argued push them ahead of Kobe...
