Thibs on DRose practice: "His change of direction is much better."
last season but rose has said he feels he is back to his mvp form if not betterI wonder if he means pre injury better or last season better on that change of direction because he already had that as a weapon and if it's better it's not fair
Derrick Rose practiced often last season with the Bulls despite missing the entire season following left knee surgery. Still, Saturday had the feel of something different.
"I was attacking a lot, getting to the line," Rose said.
On the first day of training camp, coach Tom Thibodeau noted the same thing.
"His change of direction is much better," Thibodeau said.
And if this isn't music to Bulls' fans ears, not only will Rose participate in Saturday's night session, he will do so with an intensity not seen last season.
"I got confidence in my knee," Rose said. "There’s no testing anymore. It’s going out there and playing hard and attacking."
Rose did admit to a more involved stretching routine that might've developed even if he hadn't suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in April 2012. Such matters typically develop with NBA experience.
But for one day at least, the most analyzed left knee in franchise history allowed Rose to regain his explosiveness and power.
"He attacked all day, in fact from the start," Thibodeau said. "He made that clear."
