I'm in the minority but I still like Tobias, albeit he played a horrible game today.

Brehs are emotional right now so I understand though

But we were never going anywhere without Ben so this was inevitable

The only way for Simmons and Embiid to get it done together is through the addition of a big name FA. We need another star, particularly one who can create and score from the perimeter. We're not bad enough to draft a star, we don't have the players to trade for a star, so FA is the only choice. As long as Horford and Harris are here we don't have the cap space.

Tobias Harris for Mike Conley and a 2nd - We pick up an expiring contract in Conley and an additional 2nd considering Tobias is by far the better player still and brings a lot of value to Utah. Utah will be capped out anyway since they have to extend Mitchell and Gobert, so this may be the only way they can add another big name player. He'd do well in Utah getting to play PnR with Gobert and taking some pressure off Mitchell but not having to be the top perimeter guy. Mitchell/Bojan/Ingles/Harris/Gobert is a really nice starting 5 for them :ehh: Conley as a stopgap PG for a year would allow us to continue the Simmons PF experiment and see if it's the right way to move in the future. I'm sure Embiid would like having Conley.

Al Horford and picks for Nicolas Batum - We probably have to give up a pick to get rid of Al for an expiring contract. Whether it's a 2nd or a 1st who knows, but we have to do it I think. Maybe we're lucky and Jordan doesn't ask for a pick since he lowkey likes to compete, whatever. We gotta do it.

Assuming JRich declines his player option, we could then have $41mil in cap space in the 2021 Summer to pursue a max FA and more to add to a crew of Simmons, Embiid, Zhaire, Matisse, Korkmaz, Milton, the 21st pick this year, and our 2021 1st, and anyone we maybe find in the 2nd round.

I don't see another option for the Simmons+Embiid pairing

Such a damn shame what those idiots BC and Brand did to this team...after that Celtics series a few years ago you could see all they needed was some more shooting and a slashing scorer... Not even that big of an ask...he'll they even got Butler and then they completely muffed... Never seen something like that in my time as a hoops fan... Don't even know what you could realistically get for AL at this point or Tobias...both those deals were jokes...and while I like JRich he's going to want to get paid after next season too...YIKES....gotta fire everybody at this point...top to bottom management failure

You don't think Utah would do it? I see them as being total winners in that deal. Charlotte is essentially in the tank, getting a pick for Batum would be great return rather than letting him rot on the bench for 27mil. Horford is a good culture guy too for young players.

Utah wanted a Tobias in the offseason. I guess so. I just want them contracts off the books

You my dawg breh but I just don’t see what you see in Tobi. He’s a 3rd to 4th option on a contender. But he has to be the wing scorer here and he just can’t do the things elite wings do.

I hear you but who are we realistically going to upgrade to with getting rid of him, we don't have time to wait for a young player to develop anymore, so it would have to be an already solidified star wing in the league which I don't see us being able to obtain without trading Ben or Embiid.

I agree the contract is bad but Tobias is not in the top 5 things of what's wrong with this team right now
