The Europeans literally made Dahomey rich by buying the people that Dahomey kidnapped and sold into slavery. Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing the reactions of Yoruba to this movie. Dahomey really sought to sell the Yoruba nation into slavery.

Yoruba language and religion is prominent still in the Americas in large part due to timing.

Afonja betrayed Ilorin and doomed the Oyo Empire in the early 19th century. A huge flood of Yoruba people hit slave markets across the Americas late.

In contrast, the nadir of Africans sent from Senegal, Angola/Congo, the Lower Niger etc. happened in the 18th century.

You are literally pushing the concept in this thread that a society that is only known in history as being slave traders could positively be depicted as being pro black, because it was done that way in a movie writtenby a white woman.

What is next? We should no longer call slavery the word slavery, but instead should call it involuntary migration because we don't want to show White people negatively in history.
