West nikkas call Inspectah Decks verse on Triumph lyrical miracle but then place Kurupt in a top 10 with regularity. Truth is if u take regional affiliations away they're basically the same mc. I would give Kurupt the edge but dude put out a double disc, not one but TWO albums full of rappity rapping not saying much outside of being better on the mic than figurative rival mcs and nikkas out West called it an unheralded classic

Kurupt started calling himself Kurupt Capone and Ras Kass started calling himself Ras Kassiano. The West commercial wave in the 90s had just dried up at this point due to Pacs death (R.I.P.) and thus no one cared

?I think 40 may just be too animated for most east coasters/backpackers. I believe they like their rappers to approach the mic in all seriousness. Many people can't get past 40's comical delivery and charm, to see he is actually spitting his ass off when it comes to metaphors and clever bars. Odd thing is I see so many people who prefer his newer,more digestable and slower style. You might like these OP

40 is an acquired taste. I've never been able to listen to his shyt thoroughly because his voice/flow makes me screw up my face.

Kurupt doesn't flair to that extent breh. We not talking Big Daddy Kane / Snoop / Camron level of swag and charisma, its Kurupt. And I did say I give Kurupt the esge over the two just that I feel its hypocritical to mock the East coast lyrical style as rappity rap then place a nikka on a pedestal who does the same thing. To yo 2nd point I disagree as well. Redman Method Man Busta Rhymes and Ol Dirty were all stars on the East coast and bigger stars overall than E 40 so humor on the mic and during performances / videos is something enjoyed out East albeit in doses.
