NYC. I visited cali several times and nothing ever made me say wow I want to live there. I am from NYC and have no interest in moving back there either but it’s a easy pick between the two.

That's because there's a lot of Cali transplants in Vegas probably the main people feeding its population growth.

Our football teams literally play in NJ. I hear you though the thread is about states.

California is a better state than New York.

Having lived in both I can say for a fact this is simply untrue. NYC > anywhere in the U.S

Quiet as it's kept, I think the inter-state "beef" between North Cali and Southern Cali is due to Northern Cali's jealousy of Southern California.

Whenever someone mentions Cali, it is almost always in reference to LA and SD, because the Bay Area is just NYC-lite. Nikkas who are from the East Coast or otherwise come to Cali and go to the Bay area leave thinking it wasn't anything special. When they come to LA, they make threads like this:

So that gets Oakland and Frisco nikkas in their feelings, and they resent LA and to a lesser extent San Diego.

For us in LA, we don't really care about the Bay, outside of some nikkas here following the Raiders and 49ers. There was a period of time Laker fans were rooting for the Warriors to spite LeBron, but other than that, nikkas in LA don't even think about North Cali.

So that beef is one-sided, really.
