I was never feeling particularly excited about landing a TE at 10, but the way the draft fell was essentially worst case. Jeanty gone, top 3 tackles, gone.
Loveland at least sounds like the better athlete between Tyler Warren (wasnt super excited about taking him) and a more dynamic weapon in the passing game. He should play off Kmet well and be a weapon for Caleb. The upside with Loveland is his playmaking.
Ben Johnson ran 12 personnel groups (two TE sets) 33% of the time in Detroit. Tops in the league, and to great effect

I dont think there was any market for a trade down at our spot, 9-20 talent level was too similarly ranked for there to be much value in moving up
