Nah, if 93 was anything, it was the end of socially conscious rap like Public Enemy and more hardcore shyt like Onyx. Once that black power message was taken away, corporate heads took over and gradually diminish lyrical skill ever since. Until now with the new era where you HAVE to be skilled to have a shot of lasting for more than one year.

ready to die isn't even very lyrical.
