ive seen people say that verse didn't make sense, or he was just rhyming words.

keep in mind, one of them didn't know who virgil was.

every great and even goat rapper has their detractors.

and out of their detractors, its a large segment of them that say & run with ignorant/un-informed statements.

since when is there a limit on how much slang you can use? THIS IS HIP-HOP. if you cant keep up, then you either shape up or ship out.

this is one of the reasons rap got corny. when most rappers started trying to appeal to every single demographic.

i have no problem comprehending 95% of cam's catalog. really 98%. the only period where he made me go was when he was droppin random verses during that '04-'05 time period.

Ghostface is 10x the rapper that Cam is. That's not even up for discussion. So no one is giving him a "pass". He's a better MC overall.

Big fan of Cam. Have about 6-7 songs off every albums he's got on my iTunes playlist. But he definitely does not have a classic album. I don't think he'd make top 5 since he's come out either. Maybe top 10.

Cam is easily one of the most influential. As much as we like to crown Mase as the metrosexual flyboy rap king....he only had like 2 years where he made an impact. People like to look back at Mase and give him WAY more credit than he deserves

i'd rank ghost a tad bit higher than cam on my all-time list, but that's only because cam insists on dropping 25 track LPs. if he got rid of the filler, then purple haze & killa season would be classics, imo.

plus, cam has the better overall body of work. ghost has 2 classic solo LPs so he gets the slight edge, but none of his other albums matter offline. cam's catalog is better. he got joints for days and is a much better listen.

And how can you say something is my opinion when there are people here who can't even accept the fact that people view Cam's lyrics as weak? Instead of just viewing it as an opinion, people want to basically call those critics stupid and corny for "not getting" them.
