So your God (who should be the God of Abraham) gave His Torah to Moses who then subsequently gave it to Israel? And yet God didnt seek to preserve this Torah? But waited until Mohammed to attempt to preserve His word? While allowing the Hebrews to make up laws, commandments and COVENANTS in His name all the way up until Mohammed? You can see why this makes little to no sense right?

My God (and your God) gave human beings free will. Some of them used that free will to "write books with their own hands and say it was from ALLAH." That is what the numerous authors of the Bible did. I see that you think that I have a problem, but I don't. If you believe that those books are the actual Laws then you have the problem.

Jeremiah 8:8
"'How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?

Muslims believe that Prophets came repeated to the Children of Israel with the actual message of God, but they distorted it with nationalism, racism, mass murder and theft. Why would there be so many Israelite prophets if they had the true Law already? Why would you believe that the Law is true, when an Israelite prophet said scribes have falsified it? Why do you believe Moses (pbuh) wrote his books in 3rd person and talked about events after his death? Biblical scholars are clear that he did not write those books. You see why your belief makes little to no sense, right?

Your point was that it was ONLY due to Jesus' status when that wasn't the case.

Not at all.
He was suggesting that it was preposterous to assert that Jesus was not crucified. I was pointing out that people who believed in Jesus (pbuh) early on, believed he was not crucified as well. So it's not preposterous at all. Then I explained why he probably had never heard about these groups. Paul converted non-Jews and they outvoted everyone and we have Pauline-Christianity today. Not because it is right, but because it got the most votes, BY DEFAULT!

It got the most votes because they were the views of the earliest Christians and Jesus' own Apostles.

So that goes with my question. Why did God give His Torah to Israel (not to the Ishmael), choose not preserve it, then wait till Mohammed came to give him (Mohammed) His word, and then He (God)chose to preserve THAT over the Torah He gave to Israel/Moses? And before He gave His Instruction/Torah to Mohammed, and before He for whatever reason chose to preserve the instruction given to Mohammed when He didnt choose to preserve it before, He allowed Israel to falsify His law, His commandments, and COVENANTS that they made with themselves in His name? WHY?

Jeremiah 8:8
"'How can you say, "We are wise, for we have the law of the LORD," when actually the lying pen of the scribes has handled it falsely?

If I brought a verse that said the opposite of what you're insinuating, keep it 100. You'd make an excuse wouldnt you?

Well I say, what Muslims are doing here is making excuses. Making excuses as to why they dont follow what was given to Israel, and yet, still seek to worship Israel's God. See, we can believe Jeremiah 8:8, but would we believe Jeremiah 33:19-26 which established the PERMANENT covenant that God had with Israel? Thats where we cast it away right to "free will"? But when it says what you want in Jeremiah 8:8, that is the Israelite prophet telling the truth?

1."Why would there be so many Israelite prophets..."
Same reason Muslims have teachers that instruct on the right and wrong way to adhere to Islam even though they have their text in front of them.

2. "Why would I believe that the law is true when an Israelite prophet said scribes have falsified it?"
The word there is "Torah" which doesnt translate to "law" but to "instruction". So with that said, Abraham followed the Torah of God even though he lived and existed before Moses. So the scribes handling the instruction in vain, doesnt AUTOMATICALLY refer to the Instruction/Torah that Moses received. This is a case of making it say what you want to say which is why I asked you if you'd make an excuse or not.

3. "Why do you believe Moses wrote his books in third person"
Because thats what he chose to do

"...and talked about events after his death"
Clearly, the consensus by those that believe Moses wrote the books, is that Joshua (or someone else) finished it.

3. Basilides again, that he may appear to have discovered something more sublime and plausible, gives an immense development to his doctrines. He sets forth that Nous was first born of the unborn father, that from him, again, was born Logos, from Logos Phronesis, from Phronesis Sophia and Dynamis, and from Dynamis and Sophia the powers, and principalities, and angels, whom he also calls the first; and that by them the first heaven was made. Then other powers, being formed by emanation from these, crated another heaven similar to the first; and in like manner, when others, again, had been formed by emanation from them, corresponding exactly to those above them, these, too, framed another third heaven; and then from this third, in downward order, there was a fourth succession of descendants; and so on, after the same fashion, they declare that more and more principalities and angels were formed, and three hundred and sixty-five heavens.(3) Wherefore
the year contains the same number of days in conformity with the number of the heavens.

4. Those angels who occupy the lowest heaven, that, namely, which is visible to us, formed all the things which are in the world, and made allotments among themselves of the earth and of those nations which are upon it. The chief of them is he who is thought to be the God of the Jews; and inasmuch as he desired to render the other nations subject to his own people, that is, the Jews, all the other princes resisted and opposed him. Wherefore all other nations were at enmity with his nation. But the father without birth and without name, perceiving that they would be destroyed, sent his own first-begotten Nous (he it is who is called Christ) to bestow deliverance on them that believe in him, from the power of those who made the world. He appeared, then, on earth as a man, to the nations of these powers, and wrought miracles. Wherefore he did not himself suffer death, but Simon, a certain man of Cyrene, being compelled, bore the cross in his stead; so that this latter being transfigured by him, that he might be thought to be Jesus, was crucified, through ignorance and error, while Jesus himself received the form of Simon, and, standing by, laughed at them. For since he was an incorporeal power, and the Nous (mind) of the unborn father, he transfigured himself as he pleased, and thus ascended to him who had sent him, deriding them, inasmuch as he could not be laid hold of, and was invisible to all. Those, then, who know these things have been freed from the principalities who formed the world; so that it is not incumbent on us to confess him who was crucified, but him who came in the form of a man, and was thought to be crucified, and was called Jesus, and was sent by the father, that by this dispensation he might destroy the works of the makers of the world. If any one, therefore, he declares, confesses the crucified, that man is still a slave, and under the power of those who formed our
bodies; but he who denies him has been freed from these beings, and is acquainted with the dispensation of the unborn father.

1. Carpocrates, again, and his followers maintain that the world and the things which are therein were created by angels greatly inferior to the unbegotten Father. They also hold that Jesus was the son of Joseph, and was just like other men, with the exception that he differed from them in this respect, that inasmuch as his soul was stedfast and pure, he perfectly remembered those things which he had witnessed(3) within the sphere of the unbegotten God. On this account, a power descended upon him from the Father, that by means of it he might escape from the creators of the world; and they say that it, after passing through them all, and remaining in all points free, ascended again to him, and to the powers,(4) which in the same way embraced like things to itself. They further declare, that the soul of Jesus, although educated in the practices of the Jews, regarded these with contempt, and that for this reason he was endowed with faculties, by means of which he destroyed those passions which dwelt in men as a punishment [for their sins].

~The Apostolic Fathers, Chapter XXIV & XXV, Iraeneus, DOCTRINES OF SATURNINUS AND BASILIDES & CARPOCRATES.

God gave the Torah to Moses (pbuh), but it is God's prerogative to preserve it or not. The Qur'an says some scripture is replaced with better scripture because those scriptures were time bound and spoke to the specific need of a specific people. As you know, Jesus (pbuh) revised some of the Jewish Torah. Why? By revised, I mean we stricken some of the laws and loosened others, according to the circumstances of his time. An eye for an eye, was loosened, yet divorce laws were made more strict, to address the issues of those people at that time. The Qur'an is the Final revelation to mankind. That is why it is preserved.

Jesus (pbuh) also said when you did not fulfill your duty to God, he will replace you with another people. And since they tried to kill the last prophet sent to them, they were replaced with their cousins (the Ishmaelites). And again, they did not falsify God's Law. They created their own and said this is from God. If you'd like, we can discuss why those books cannot be from God. It is quite blasphemous to even believe as such, if you actually read the books. They paint God as a jealous, paranoid, weak-minded, repenting, limited, regretting, genocidal being.

And you are under the impression that I have a problem with contradictions in the Bible. I don't! If you showed me a verse that said the laws were not corrupted, I would expect that. The Bible is filled with contradictions!!!! What you don't understand is that that is YOUR PROBLEM. You believe the entire thing is true and from God. I don't. I'm just showing you, that some parts of your book agrees with me, so you should think about that.

As for your assessment of the Jeremiah 8:8 about instructions and the Torah. The verse says the "PEN OF THE SCRIBES," therefore these laws/instructions were written down! Do you have the instructions of Abraham (pbuh)? I would like to see them. Or did God not see fit to preserve them. Do you see YOUR problem here? Everything that you say makes your situation worse, not mine. That verse is talking about the supposed books of Moses (pbuh), but you can make it what you'd like to win the argument.

And Muslims do not worship Israel's God. Israel's God could not see Adam (pbuh) behind a tree, that God could not beat Jacob without touching his hipbone, that God gets advice from Moses (pbuh), that God believes that a tower can reach heaven. We worship the God of everyone and everything. God was God long before Israel! We worship the actual GOD!

And believe as you like about Joshua finishing Deuteronomy. But it says "there hasn't been a Prophet like Moses (pbuh) to this day!" That implies that this was written long after Moses (pbuh) had passed, not right after! Perhaps it actually was written by some scribes and not Moses (pbuh) or Joshua. Something to think about!

With all your "knowledge" about the corruptions in the bible you didnt know that the John 8 stoning verse(s) was a later addition? Heres my point about you simply running with what you want it to say. In this same thread you were stating that the bible has been edited, yet you bring an edited verse to prove whatever point you were trying to make.

As well, I dont care about what the Quran says about scripture being replaced or itself being the "final" revelation. Of course a later text that wants you to forget the first will say something like that. My point all along was that the Torah was given to Israel (not Ishmael). So something later coming and telling Israel (who God chose because He didnt choose Ishmael lol)not to follow the Torah is irrelevant. They're not supposed to listen.

Jesus (pbuh) also said when you did not fulfill your duty to God, he will replace you with another people. And since they tried to kill the last prophet sent to them, they were replaced with their cousins (the Ishmaelites). And again, they did not falsify God's Law. :mjlol: Oh I get it. HERE is where we can believe the prophet of God. When it says what you want. But in Jeremiah 33 we cant believe that God had an ETERNAL covenant with Israel, because, well, that goes against what you want right? And yes, falsifying God's commandments is me coming to you and giving you a commandment that isnt from God, but telling you it is. Its lying. And after lying for thousands of years, God rewards them by returning them to their land after 2000+ years of not being there. So they lie for THOUSANDS of years and still get returned to the land that was promised to their ancestor, Abraham. I dont care about the reasonings you can make up about why or how it happened. The point is that it happened on God's watch. The question is, WHY if what you're saying about them lying and falsifying things about God is true?

And you are under the impression that I have a problem with contradictions in the Bible. I don't! If you showed me a verse that said the laws were not corrupted, I would expect that. The Bible is filled with contradictions!!!! What you don't understand is that that is YOUR PROBLEM. You believe the entire thing is true and from God. I don't. I'm just showing you, that some parts of your book agrees with me, so you should think about that.

No. Im under the impression that you'll bring something up from the bible when it agrees with you. But when it doesnt you chalk it up to "nationalistic pride" or "falsifying".

Hey friend, if you're going to reply to what I said dont you think its imperative that you READ what I say? The Torah/Instruction that Abraham received was the test to kill his son. THAT is Abraham following God's "Torah". When Abraham was told by God to leave his fathers land, and when he followed thru with what he was told by his God, that is Abraham following God's TORAH/INSTRUCTION. So with the same token, we can say that the scribes handling the TORAH in vain doesnt automatically refer to the Torah that Moses received. Thats you just making it say what you want it to.

And Muslims do not worship Israel's God.

That was what I was getting at. That Muslims do not worship the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob(Israel).

I didnt say Joshua wrote it. I simply told you that it is common sense that if one believes that Moses wrote the 5 books of the Torah, that OBVIOUSLY they would believe that someone else wrote about his death. It doesnt matter who wrote it though. What matters is if its true or not. And when I look over to the land of Israel and see Israel existing again in that land, I can understand that God is and always has been alive and that He has remembered His promise to Abraham, Isaac, AND JACOB/ISRAEL.

I used to continue back and forth with people, but not to much anymore. I can see the futility in this argument with you. My point is proven, whether you care about my reasoning or not. Have a good day.

If your point was this:

And Muslims do not worship Israel's God.

Then I'd agree. We both proved our point... You have a good one as well friend.....

It not even really worth arguing. Both are fallacious. You have one talking about God magically impregnating a women, a virgin for that matter, to give birth to "himself" in human form and sacrificing himself. The other, Mohammedianism\Islam, starts with the right premise-there's no god but god, but makes the mistake of elevating one man and attempting to make him infallible.

Arguing with believers of either is a waste of time, because you're dealing with a mentally ill person who forgoes logic in the name of belief. It's funny because neither of them are right.

As great as their alleged god is, he only reveals himself to one man at a time, and provides that single man with divine revelations, instead of God demonstrating his omnipresence and appearing and speaking before a group.

If you believe Muhammad's Sura Al-Isra, you might be retarded. If you believe Jesus walked on water, or ascended to heaven (the sky, not paradise) in bodily form, you might be retarded. If you believe God spoke to Moses thru a burning bush, you might be retarded. Its really that simple. And yes there are some high functioning retards in this world, with degrees from fancy institutions in sciences etc, but they are still clinging on to nonsense.

Y'all can go ahead an believe the hallucinations and dreams of your so called prophets. You're mentally ill. And Im not saying religious people are mentally ill, Im saying people who believe in Abrahamic religions certainly are.

It's best we let the retards argue and fight among themselves while we work to make sure we curb their power and influence in our lands and governments because they are subversive in nature.

IVS, does your religion discourage you from insulting people and their beliefs? Or does it encourage you to insult people?

Does your religion encourage you to commit genocide and enslave people that are on land you wish to possess. Does you religion elevate you above others simply because they do not accept the divinity of your prophet?

I don't care about insulting people who are trying to promote nonsense as truth and attempt to be circuitous when they are asked to offer evidence to their claims. And if being called a retard makes them upset, then O well...truth hurts.

IVS, you did not answer my questions. But I'll answer yours. No and no. It's that simple. From my experience, people are extremely comfortable with insulting other people's beliefs, but are not so comfortable answering questions about their own beliefs. Believe me, you did not upset me. It seems that you are far more bothered than I am.
