I am comfortable and I love you
Workman like hip hop is a good way to put it. Liquid Swordz is a Carhartt jacket:russ:

And yes GZA has no charisma and nobody mentions this when they wonder why nokkas don't love LS like they do. The cover is not good, and although the songs are great, they kind of blend together in a way the other mentioned Wu albums dont

Not for nothing but I can see where breh is coming from. That's why I said in my earlier post Liquid Swords isn't even my favorite GZA album. Words From the Genius is, cause his delivery is more lively and his lyrics are pretty much the same level.

"I'll shoot up funerals, firebomb wakes
Vehicular homicides, whatever it takes
Just to keep control of my empire
I'll set ya own mother on fire"

Dude was on some cold shyt for 91

son must be on those strong, strong drugs to say the cover is not good
I personally think it's an ugly cover, especially when compared to covers like OB4CL, Ironman, Return to 36th

I get why nikkas love it, but be for real that looks like some fanart a nikka gets in the mail :mjlol:

Nobody in here truly believes GZA has any charisma but few would say it because nikkas are so sensitive about their precious rappers, especially when it comes to Wu Tang nikkas

I think GZA has a good voice but nothing about him pops out when compared to nikkas like Meth, Ghost, and Rae. They have voices and energy that cut through and leave a presence. Even RZA's hilarious ass voice leaves a mark

The charismatic Wu members I mentioned also have a memorable performance somewhere.

Meth has features ànd singles that are a part of history. Even if you toss his entire Wu career aside he has You're All I Need

Ghost has character and Supreme Clientele created a sub genre of hip hop. Nikka Supreme Clientele created Kanye West!. We talking about a nikka that wore bathrobes and a giant eagle bracelet everywhere:mjlol:

Rae will always have Ice Cream, and OB4CL also created a sub genre

ODB needs no explanation:mjlol:

Hell even Deck has I BOMB ATOMICALLY

GZA has none of these qualities. He's an extremely skilled rapper but nobody outside of die hard Wu fans are reciting a GZA line, nobody ever tried to dress or talk like GZA. He'll always have 4th Chamber, but nikkas love that song more for that cinematic intro than anything said on the track

But I already know nikkas gonna read all this as me calling GZA trash so what's the point?:mjlol:

How does GZA have no charisma when he literally pulled off one of the very best lyrical album performances of all-time with Liquid Swords :dahell: GZA was kicking so many lyrically descriptive hood tales he was on another planet. His charisma was that he was so lyrically sharp that he went straight to the point no frills. He was the complete opposite of ODB in that regard. Very interesting MC in the way he chopped rhymes. He wasn’t just rhyming to rhyme. Everything he was kicking you felt that shyt in your chest! I look at MC’s and rate them on how they perform on an album. OB4CL is a CLASSIC album but Raekwon did not perform lyrically anywhere near GZA on Liquid Swords and was helped tremendously by Ghostface’s performance. Ironman was Ghostface benefitting from Raekwon’s performance.

GZA - Cold World
It was the night before New Year’s, and all through the fukkin' projects
Not a handgun was silent, not even a TEC
Outsiders were stuck by enemies who put fear
And blasted on the spot before the pigs were there
You know hoods, robbers, snipers new in sight
fukk blue and white!
They escape before them flash the fukkin' lights
Gunshots shatter first-floor window panes
Shells hit the ground and blood stained the dice game
Whether pro-calisthenic, any style you set it
Beat nikkas toothless, physically cut up like gooses
But with iron on the sides, thugs took no excuses
Therefore, your fifty-two handblocks was useless
Linx was snatched off necks, left scars on throats
Jackets took, after bullet rips through coats
Against those who felt the cold from the steel
Made ‘em fold and squeal, once the metal hit the temple of his grill
Construction worker who was caught for his bomber
No time to swing the hammer that was hangin' from his farmers
And it’s bugged how some nikkas catch slugs
And pockets dug from everythin' except check stubs
And it does sound ill like wars in Brownsville
Or fatal robberies in Red Hook where Feds look
For fugitives to shoot cops, nikkas layin' on roof tops
For his C.R.E.A.M he stashed in a shoebox
But he was hot, and the strip was filled with young killers
You don’t suspect, so cops creep like caterpillars
And born thieves stay hooded with extra bullets
Those who try to flee, they hit the vertebrae
Increase the murder rate
Similar to hitmen who pull out TEC's and then
Drop those who crack like tacos from Mexican
Rapid, like recipients cashin' checks again
Back to the motherfukkin' spot on Lexington

Bruh :wow:

I think he has charisma. He just lacks energy a lot of the time in recent years, but not on Liquid Swords. When he's rhyming, he rhymes with a confidence and flair, detailed imagery, witty humor and intelligence. He captivates your mind as a listener, and that is charismatic.

GZA - Living in the World Today
My preliminary attack keep cemeteries packed
Of nikkas who think it ain't like that
MC's are gunned down like bein' run down with mad trucks
Then God struck, religious nikkas call it 'bad luck'
Rap celeb, you got caught up in the web
Now bees are stingin', yo, that nikka's em-singin'
I'm just swingin' swords strictly based on keyboards
Unbalanced like elephants and ants on see-saws
I throw raps that attack like the Japs on Pearl Harbor
MC's be out like bank robbers
Fleein' the scene, to be a sole survivor
DJ — the getaway driver
Tried to dip, but he dive, I socialize with vocal vibes
On tracks stabbed up with razor-sharp knives
Criminal subliminal minded rappers find it hard to define it
When narrow is the gate
For fat tapes and then played out and out of date
Then I construct my thoughts on site to renovate
And from that point, the God made a statement
Draftin' tracements, replacements in basements
Materials in sheet-rock to sound proof the beatbox
And microscopic optics received through the boxes
Obnoxious topic, major labels, flavor tropical
Punchline that's unstoppable
Ring like shots from Glocks that attract cops
Around the clubs and try to shut down the hip-hop
But we only increase if everything is peace
Father-U-Cee-King the police

GZA trimmed the fat! 100% In a world back in 95 where MC’s really made a living saying NOTHING GZA was really 100% full strength SHYTTING on heads lyrically. You can’t call it any other way. The rhymes, the flow, the beats, the features, the whole style! How the fukk you try and front like you can’t understand why heads regard Liquid Swords on the upper echelon of levels? :scust:

Potentially the best verse on that album

The way this song flows right into Gold :wow:

Then he goes right into this verse on Gold…

I'm deep down in the back streets, in the heart of Medina
About to set off something more deep than a misdemeanor
Under the subway, waiting for the train to make noise
So I can blast a nikka and his boys, for what?
He pushed up on the block and made the dope sales drop
Like the crash in the Dow Jones stock
I had a connect to cross-sales, to catch more mill's
Than ho-bytches got birth control pills
I'm in the park setting up a deal over blunt fire
Bum nikka sleeping on the bench, they had him wired
Peeped my convo, the address of my condo
And how I changed a nikka name to John Doe
And while we set up camp, we got vamped
Put the stake through his heart, I ripped his fukking fangs apart
Snake got smoked on the set like Brandon Lee
Blown out the frame like Pan Am Flight 103
He got swung on, his lungs was torn
A kingpin just castled with his rook and lost a pawn
A regular on the block that played lookout
For preying predator with a Glock, he should have took out

:damn:

People really don't know what charisma means. :heh:
