Wherever whores go.....
Google has never been great at creating anything new. Everything popular from them is a copy/improvement over something else. Not that there's anything wrong with it. The world wouldn't be the same without google search and gmail.

They weren't the first ones to do search
They weren't first with a web browser
They were the first email client

But they improved on those and made them the best. However the fragmentation for such a influential company is embrassing. Nothing worse than buying a Android device and in a year it stops getting regular updates.

iMessage is one of the biggest reasons why I would never ever leave Apple. It too easy to message someone a text, pic or video even. And everyone uses it which makes it even better.

Hangouts is free breh.

I think the biggest issue is Google doesn't push people to use Hangouts, most people don't even know it exist. I have video called many people via Hangouts and their reaction is :dwillhuh: WTF is this.
Hangouts is like the stock messager on most "newer" phones now.... And its not bad, it even has more features than iMessage, just isn't as effective. iMessage on an iPod is more flawless than any Hangouts version tbh. Even the fact you can run it on an iPod is cool enough

Yeah the fragmentation is horrible. The real problem is there's so many garbage lower tiers that people use because they're affordable, but the problem there is, developers gotta waste time porting apps to all those shytty phones under Kit Kat

I think Messenger is optional because it's meant to be the iMessage opponent. And Hangouts is meant to be the cross platform app. Why the hell the two aren't together is ridiculous.

I thought they had made hangouts to be the android version of imessage... When did they drop the messenger app?

If that true its sounds terrible, google has done a bad job at marketing hangouts, its really easy to use. (at least it was when i had an android phone)

And when you say hangouts voice, are you talking about Google voice? Or is there yet another Google app out there?

Receiving video on android is a joke. shyt looks like vhs found footage
Because MMS fukking SUCKS!

All carriers limit the size of MMS to a few megabytes....no video is gonna be useful that small. With an integrated messaging system, they should be able to port those to be sent/received over WiFi or cellular data.

They'd be better for it. The feature is completely useless otherwise. All I can send are pics and coli smileys

#1 reason that i can't fukk with android right now...messaging is a joke. imessage should be the standard of how to do messaging...i send audio files, video, gifs, voice clips without any issue and its integrated in my macbook as well so it makes it 10x better. Its so simple but Google can't seem to grasp the concept of standardized OS apps..everything has to be fragmented.
