It's just when they got bad I started to pay attention to all the other teams and follow the league as a whole. Never gave up my fanhood for even a second. But that first year they missed the post season after all them Super Bowls I was still gonna watch the playoffs. I took the "red and blue" glasses off and realized there were 27 (at the time) other teams out there and that the NFL was more than just my beloved Bills.

And since the Bills sucked I could watch those other teams from an unbiased view point. Before I related everything to the Bills.

Jerry Rice? He's aight but I'm taking Reed.

Barry? Thurman started over him in college.

Marino? K-Gun, nikka!

Now I just see the league for what it is and still root for the Bills.

Same with DeAngelo Williams. But thing is, I lived in the Carolina's and I always liked the Panthers. And I lived in Memphis when he was there demolishing records. That STILL doesn't make me a legit Panthers fan. I don't feel emotionally invested when they do well.

The Bengals, however. I will ride with this squad till the end. Carson Palmer left, it was "PEACE, nikka". Ochoshytface left it was "PEACE, nikka". I rep the the motherfukkin team, son. And I considered myself fans of them. But they left the TEAM. That orange and black is what I"m reppin.

Lebron James and the Cavaliers made the NBA Finals in 2007 and followed that up with back to back years of the NBA's best regular season record. Then in his first year the Heat made it to the NBA finals before winning it all in his second year.

Like now. I dont really watch baseball but Ive been riding with the Nats since the team moved hear from Montreal. Now we got a good young core with Strausberg and Harper and we prepped to start shytting on nikkas. My skins got RGIII and the Wizards got Wall, Beal, Okafor, and Nene. shyt like this is the best time to be fans of your team, when that future is looking bright and you can finally start seeing some light at the end of the tunnel . Now once one of these teams actually wins a title Im going APE shyt, and I would feel fufilled and like I fully deserved it. I honestly feel like player dikk riders dont get the same satisfaction when their "team" wins then traditional fans.

Another reason why routing for the team where you at is special is if yall do win you actually got a whole city/town to celebrate with and bask in the glory. I got nikkas who are heat fans but when they won aint nobody in MD give a fukk about MIAMI. Them nikkas couldnt really celebrate shyt except with each other in they house. Id rather celebrate and fukk the city up with 1000s/100,000s of people in an entire town/city than in the living room with the 1 other fan in my area I would hate to be a fan of a team and not even be able to go to the championship parade.

basketball is a star's league moreso than the other big sports so i do ride out w/players over teams. in all other sports i have been "loyal" to the same primary team for my whole life.

the best players touch the ball more than any other sport for the most part so i'm gonna root for whoever i like the most and entertains me.

can someone tell me why this is an absurd stance to take on bball?

yes i rooted for jordan and kobe and iverson and wade and gradually lebron(not at first) and rose and durant/westbrook. so f'n what. they are the best and greatness is compelling to watch.

could you imagine having to root against kobe and lebron for their whole careers? greatness wins out, so ultimately they are gonna win in sport like basketball where one person can make such a clear difference in the outcome. unless you liked the spurs, you will have experienced way too much let down from like 2000-2020.

seeing how some teams are mismanaged at the executive level and even how insane some of these fan bases are, then its a little silly to be so loyal to a team when you are basically hanging your pleasure as a fan on waaaaaaaaaaay too many things going right that hardly ever do unless you like certain teams.
