It’s more about more teams like TCU getting in the playoffs than the actual championship game. Fan bases want more Cinderella teams in the playoffs instead of the slots being filled with most SEC teams and OSU or Clemson

If you honestly think the NCAA would ever make their precious southern squads travel up to The Big House/The Shoe/Happy Valley etc in the middle of December.. for a playoff game… then I don’t know what to tell you. I’m a fan of campus playoff games for sure.. but nah. It’ll never happen.
The problem is there will never be 4 great teams in a season. That’s why they are so many blowouts in the playoff semi finals
