The problem with this generation that they all sound the same, same beats, same songs, same albums, same features, etc without their own identities. Old Cash Money had their own identity, Wu-Tang had their own identity, Death Row had their own identity, old Bad Boy had their own identity, old Roc-A-Fellas had their own identity, Ruff Ryder had their own identity, even No Limit had their own identity, etc a bunch of talent rappers sound different, not similar.in 80s-90s, late 90s-20s.

That's mostly down south rappers, they make that lazy 1 dimensional music with no shame.

Andre 3000 murdered Future on his own shiit, Future sounded so basic next to a much more skilled mc. These down south rappers only care about rhyming words together, so their songs are a whole bunch of random lines with no direction. They don't try to be more creative, with them its about style and charm.

And I love Redman, ACTQ, so good music doesn't need to have substance or be conscious, it just has to be creative.

Here's a track full of random lines. What is he talking about? The South is the king of this shiit.

I mostly listen to West Coast and East Coast music, I don't find Migos entertaining.

To be honest no one is really TRYING to be different these days everyone's playing it safe rehashing the same shyt of whatever sound is poppin

Down South rappers sound so basic, its not even funny. Their goal is to just rhyme words together.

When I heard Future and Andre 3000 on the same track, I could not stop laughing at how basic Future sounded.

The South never cared about being lyrical geniuses.

I can only imagine the blood bath with a Nas feature with either Gucci Mane, Migos, or Young Thug. This

damn @ Nas absolutely slaughtering Ross on multiple occasions.

East Coast rappers try to dumb it down for down south listeners, but :wtf: @ trying to beat them at their own game. It sounds so forced and unnatural, East Coast will always be known for being grimey and the South will always be known for nursery rhymes.

I just throw Ar-Ab on when hip-hop is having a slow day.

As an 80s baby, I really don't feel any need to hate on people younger than me for doing what comes natural to them. I moved on from this shyt anyways. I love hip-hop, but it will never be like what it was to me in the 90s again and feel no need to "go back" when I can listen to those older albums/songs.

One thing I find hilarious is that if you go on youtube and check Ja Rule old videos....you see people waxing nostalgic in the comments section...talking about " I wish I could take a time machine back to 2001" and all this other dumb shyt. I remember being so fukkin disenchanted and disgusted with hip hop back around the turn of the century...the Murder Inc era was the worst.

Today sucks too btw....im just saying....we outgrow this shyt at a certain age.

1998-2002 was the weirdest period in hip-hop period.

I think it was New Jerusalem Journalizt who said it on SOHH and I agree. Out goes the samples...in comes the casios and the commercialization of the game.

I don't even know what to think of hip-hop now...I listen to house and techno primarily these days.

isn't it crazy that we only talk about the same albums over and over again ? the media only talk about my beautiful dark twisted fantasy or good kid maad city, or Take Care... people and hip hop fans always talk about the same albums: MBDTF, GKMC, TAKE CARE, and you have a few nikkas who mention albums like Life is good or pinata.

eh. i rarely ever hear these albums talked about offline.

i couldnt even tell you what pinata is.
