I get on my "this generation sucks" thing sometimes but then I realize when I was coming up, the generation before me was shytting on my generation. Its the cycle. I still remember trying to put my uncle on DMX when i was 11 and he was like "nikka cant fukk with Ice Cube". Im like, "wait the nikka from Friday???:scusthov:"

Its so much shyt these days, you gotta mine for dope shyt. When its like that, you end up with something you think is the greatest and only 10 other people know about it.

well ice cube IS better than dmx.

and you shouldnt have to break your back to find dope records. these dudes should be getting paid. and truth be told, the vast majority of the quality stuff isnt even worth the extra effort.

we lost it brehs. we gave hip-hop away.

rappers and fans were complaining about hip hop's state since the 80s

this is false.

theres always stuff thats going to get complained about. but it was never like it is now. theres never been a time where hip-hop was just flat-out seen as wack or dead until the mid-00s and theres reasons for that, but i doubt that the naysayers would want to hear it. so why waste my time?

never have i ever seen so many feelings of disenchatment & disinterest in hip-hop. even amongst the young cats coming up. theres no way you can still be in denial at this point.

I actually consider the 2010s better on average than the 2000s

2003-2008 is like the dark ages of hip hop except for some standout albums from Kanye, Lupe, etc

no this is the dark ages right here. we're living in it.

you may personally like whats going on nowadays more, but theres no way that you can look around and think that this isnt the absolute worst shape that hip-hop has been in.

depends on what you were listening to in the mid-2000s. if you were listening to the bullchit that the airwaves forced on you, then just say that homie.

how is rap better now? wheres your dipset? wheres your dblock? state property? re-up gang? rocafella? g-unit? young jeezy? i could go on for days actually. hip-hop was still in a good place outside of the mainstream.

diplomats & their affiliates alone are better than hip-hop as a whole right now.
