Farrakhan is someone who is pro-black and conservative.

Most of our "race men" were pro-black and conservative.

Black conservative ideology is a "do for self" ideology. It borders on separatism, and, in it's most extreme cases, it calls for it. It's not wanting handouts from whites. It's not wanting to cross hands with whites. It's wanting the freedom to build black ecosystems free from white involvement.

Think about Farrakhan and the ecosystem of the NOI.

Think about Tyler Perry and his TP Studios.

There is a local pastor here in my city who turned half of a dead mall into a mega-church. The other half consist of his own bank, christian book store, restaurant, grocery store, bottling plant, fitness facility, and about four or five big name retailers rent on his property including Walmart.

Black conservatism shares some aspects of white conservatism - strong traditional families, faith, education, thrift, skill of hand, but it's for the benefit of building black ecosystems devoid of white involvement.

People who have a hard time with black conservatism are white people because they've racialized the idea. They put "blackness" and everything that has to do with blackness on the political "left". They don't understand the idea is different for black people.

A person can pro black and be a conservative or liberal although both ideologies are now subjective depending how you view them.

2nd guy is right. most black people are socially conservative and fiscally liberal

although, american conservatism is considered right-wing extremist in other democratic countries. so it would be hard to say most black people are extremists by global standards
:mjlol:let me guess, except for the racist shyt?

Black peoples voting history pattern data doesn't back this claim. Plus social conservativism meant anti-civil rights 50 years ago; shyt still does in some places. When have we been against social progressivism?

Black folks have been on the forefront of every progressive movement this country has ever had; even the gay shyt. We arguably brought this nation closer to its Promise than any individual ethnic group to date.... Social conservativism seeks to maintain the status quo. The status quo has been the enemy of Black Americans for over 300 years.

The Dear Dr. Amos Wilson (pbuh) asked what did black conservatives have to conserve?
I love the man because he actually tried to put his theory and rhetoric to the test unlike the other hoteps in the 90s.

I wonder how his copy/print shop wouldve done if he lived another decade or so. Hell, id love for him to have at least lived until obama. Id love to hear his commentary on such a thing. I think amos would give a more eloquent version of paul mooney speech about it. :pachaha:

My only issue with him is that none of the bussines apparatuses he built in the late 80s and early 90s exist today. If only he had more time, or at least an ideological successor.
