Capitalism really is just a ruse to make a handful of people wealthy. The average person is never going to make it.

Everyone that doesn't play the game gets those outcomes.

This. @Scustin Bieburr got the right idea:

Except to me it feels more like materialism is the religion, capitalism being more along the lines of the church.

And it may be a bitter pill for most to swallow, but the only true freedom from the hamster wheel if u not prepared to sell ur soul is to live a humble life. I accepted long ago ill never be triple 6 gang. And im cool with that. Mostly because im comfortable living a humble life. And im not willing to trade my inegrity and physical and mental health, my very soul just to succomb to materialism and stunt on the gram.

Most folks dont even realize what true wealth actually is, and that many actually had it all along, until it is gone.

I'm happy that your wrote this. Many folks only associate capitalism with working a job. Capitalism is board spectrum. Poor working class pay to play the game. So they can have the nicest cars, clothes, jewelry etc. Working 2 jobs just to pay off a car that won't be worth shyt after the lease. Clothes go out of style etc. They get caught in the rat race.

Meanwhile like you said, living a humble life is the true goal.

Facts. And the truth is all the material things in the world aint gone bring us any closer to that true wealth i speak of. Sure its nice, and great at first. But if u look close at those people u really begin to notice even those with all the money in the world dont really seem as fulfilled as most would expect them to be.

Folks would say they are jaded. Spoiled. And that is correct. But on top of that its because that true wealth we speaking of, simply can not be bought in no store or off no website. Money cant buy everything sadly. And once u reach the pinnacle of materialism, that unfulfilled soul starts burning all the hotter with nothing left to reach for material wise. Kinda like an addict who is just using not to feel sick at this point. :francis:

300 million people clawing to survive so roughly 200,000 people can earn 1 million or more :wow:
Coli capitalist be like "those 300 million just need to work as hard as the 200k people"

The key to making it in this system is to be born into wealth.

The vast majority of ultra rich gained their wealth through inheritance or being born into it

It's a system not a ruse. Nothing is hidden it's by design. Cut throat capitalists know this. You either opt in or out in your head space. To win this game you gotta have a healthy head start or a ruthless drive. Doesn't matter if you gonna be a doctor or a street pharmaceutical kingpin. The 1% that are self made are calculated and driven. The ones that start the race laps ahead still have the wins by proxy.

The rest of us are running up hill constantly until you either find a short cut or tap out otherwise you not winning the race just hanging in there. It's too late to reorient the world now without burning everything and starting over. You should have understood from time that salaries and wages just keep us in the game. It wasn't hidden from you. Combine capitalism with consumerism and you hava a perfect system that keeps people plugged in. People used to build houses that last generations. Buy appliances that might last decades etc. It became normal to constantly be shelling out money with planned obsolescence. Goods became cheaper but also of poorer quality to keep people buying. So if you earn more you spend more. It's a cycle. So the goal is to make more money to sustain more spending. And now they want to get everyone used to subscription for everything not even ownership.

Change your perspective. The only win is not making more or becoming a millionaire. Spending less can be just as life changing... Humans who want to cut expenditures and learn how to be self dependent, reduce the cost of living are looking at reducing the impact of capitalism by escaping consumerism. When you stop being driven by what you have to buy or pay for you realize how liberating it can be. Hopefully you have this realization before you have a family...once you do you are sort of invested in the system for the next generation via obligations.

The last sentence is what i became self aware to a few years ago. As i got older the younger crowd was talking about rocking Amiri, fear of god, Kenzo etc and im like oh wtf is this? Who rocking this? So
It starts from celeb worship. Your favorite artists influencer rocks this or drives that so u need that because he had it on or that build a body thot saying u need to take her to this restaurant to have a chance at the draws so the young people are caught in a new matrix.

Us old nikkas who were deep into the old matrix just try to jump into the new one where they try to renew their spot but look crazy. People in their 40s and 50s imitating 20 to early 30 yr olds will always look crazy unless u hop off the consumerism carousel and act your age. Im 41 and my homie who is 38 saw me in a nautica tee and said “u look old as shyt nikka” and i said because i am old and dont give a fukk to go broke trying to impress youngins.

Capitalism is just a system, void of qualities like good or bad. It's all about the people running it.

There are plenty of positive cases of capitalism happening every minute. That locally owned barbershop? Capitalism. The black owned soul food business? Capitalism. Capitalism is just a tool.

And currently the group wielding those tools of power want to exploit and manipulate, and use that tool to bash everyone's head in.

Learn to separate the system from the people running it.

Well with all that in mind, OP needs to complain about the rigging of capitalism and not the economic system itself. There’s always going to be rich and poor and winners and losers unless you force everyone to have the same. And forcing everyone to have the same discourages creativity and ingenuity because the reward remains the same whether you have it or not.

Capitalism with certain safety nets is the best economic system out there and it’s not even close. There was a time in America where one man could go to a factory job and take care of his family by himself in a house with 1 or 2 cars. Isn’t that making it?

I knew that already but seeing the actual numbers is a different ball game. Most people making lower salaries are never ever going to get there :francis:

Yes they will. They just have to believe they will, work hard at their current job, work a second job, a gig job part time, have a side hustle and start their own business and they'll be making 60,000 a year in no time!

Half truths..

Lets talk about that conflicting post you replied to..

That poster said back in the day, you could work a regular job, make a little money and own a whole lot while being single.. But in this very thread, they're saying old heads WORKED TOO MUCH and they don't want to be like them..

Its like these posters arguments so stupid they collide with one another..

I mean if you want the same results, work the hours them old heads did.. But they say a resounding no. :stopitslime:

How you want the same sh*t, without putting in the same work? :what:

Its a generational internet thing because my nieces and nephews say the same sh*t. And they seen people working hard to get what they had.. But not them though..

This is pure madness. :pachaha:

The average person in the 50s averaged a little over 40 hours a week :coffee:

That’s one. Two, when did I ever comment on someone working too much? Conflating two different people saying two different things and saying their arguments are colliding is what I call “stupid”
