You gotta give it to OKC, Sam Presti is easily a top 3 if not the best GM in basketball, this is a win win situation for OKC, see how far their new big three are in comparison to the Warriors/Rockets/Spurs/Cavs, if they are not up to par all 3 players leave clearing up space for their salary cap, and rebuild for the future while having no major contracts other than Adams and Roberson.....

It's really do or die for OKC in 2017-18.....

I didn't say Presti didn't, but he's probably not pursuing George and Melo if KD is still there. There's a good chance this team financially can't keep a re-upped George, Westbrook and Melo, but you think throwing in KD on a supermax was gonna make it any more feasible?

There's a good chance that KD would not have re-upped for the super max and instead opted in for 1 year to get that 10 year bonus(this is assuming he stays with the Thunder). Then, if they lose again this year, Presti would have been forced to pursue George or Melo in order to get KD to stay and again they had the pieces to still get all both of them.

Breh... they dumped Taj and Doug for TRASH. And Payne was the key piece they were after

:laff:

Fast-Forward to now, the Bulls got Dunn and could have drafted Smith Jr and just been done with the shyt show at the PG spot with Payne and Grant
:scust:

Markkanan looks legit so I'm not going to shyt on that pick yet, but I'll be following Smith Jr closely, cause if he goes off and Dunn ain't shyt
:sadcam:
If you wanted Smith, you don't trade for Dunn.

I'm starting to feel bad for that guy. shyt, even when Anthony Bennett got traded at least we were like "yeah he sucks but maybe a change of scenery will help." Y'all ain't even leaving that door open for Dunn

It's great for the Thunder and Melo, with PG/Roberson he can always take the worst offensive player and realistically the Thunder now have a team where they can switch a lot on defense.

:wow: My nikka @Malta approves.

All knicks game should be played at St John's next couple of years

:philjacksonlol2: @SJUGrad13

:wow: Brehs... @Illuminatos did that so hopefully we don’t have to go through that.

I felt if we could've landed Melo, then DWade would've been a strong possibility for Houston as well... if his banana boat friends could convince him on an off-the-bench shaun livingston type role. Really, I felt DWade would be a strong follow-up acquisition for whichever team landed Melo (Hou, Clev, OKC) since one of them has Bron while OKC/Hou have comparable star duos that a Melo + DWade addition could provide some spot offensive relief for.

How did OKC get Melo without having to hand over Steven Adams? :mjlol::francis:
Because Sam Presti knew not to overpay for Melo

There's a good chance that KD would not have re-upped for the super max and instead opted in for 1 year to get that 10 year bonus(this is assuming he stays with the Thunder). Then, if they lose again this year, Presti would have been forced to pursue George or Melo in order to get KD to stay and again they had the pieces to still get all both of them.

Too many variables to come to that conclusion. Had KD re-upped for one year, would they have been quick to give Oladipo the money he got? If they lose again, KD woulda left and signed somewhere before Presti woulda had the opportunity to trade for George or Melo. Maybe the Knicks lose patience and trade him to Houston or another team opens up. What if Melo doesn't accept a trade to OKC given the uncertainty with KD?
