The loss of Kanter will hurt them greatly, especially defensively in the post

Kanter is one of the worst defensive big men in the league

He's only good for offense which they replaced with Melo

Did I say he never played with an All Star? I said a star player in their prime. Melo never had a legit star player to defer to. Hence why his style of play during the Olympics is so drastically different than his play in the NBA. It's easy to pass the ball and take less shots when you're playing with guys you know have the ability to produce like you can. Kenyon was one of my faves to watch, but he was never a star. Really good player? Definitely.
