Melo oftentimes guards himself by chucking up inefficient shots and bricking them. 43% from the field from the SF/PF position isn't exactly being unstoppable on defense, and that was against guys inferior to Green as a defender :russ:
He also played with a bum shoulder. Once he got that under control he lit it up.

OKC needs more bench pieces tho unless the bench players from last year greatly improve. They need a scoring 6th man. As of right now, I think the Cavs and Warriors are better than OKC. One could argue the Spurs too due to Kawahi and Pop. The jury is out on Houston, Minnesota, and dark horses like Portland and the Pelicans.

Everyone automatically assume Westbrook is the #1 option, and he certainly is, but what if he decided to play more of a traditional point guard role and really set out to see George and Anthony put up 30s and 40s throughout the season?

no to mark jackson :scust:

jeff van gundy :ehh:

id rather they both stay in the booth though... no telling who they would get to call games
Mark Jackson would actually be a better coach for this team.

In fact, given a full training camp, Mark is possibly the perfect coach for this squad. Doc Rivers would probably make them more formidable title contenders though.

hes got to do both... westbrook is a FORCE. he cant go out there and be chris paul, he has to continue to ram it down the defenses throat and force it to collapse, finish strong if they dont rotate fast enough, get to the FT line, all that... but i have no doubt he wants to share the ball. he did his best to get other involved last year even without great offensive help. after a year of that, im sure he welcomes having some great scorers to distribute to. also he wants this to work and for them to WIN.

he has all the criticism of how he never passed the ball to KD enough, thats why he left B.S. im think he will do his part to keep them happy, but he cant lose what makes him unique and special.

That would NEVER happen. Westbrook will ALWAYS be Westbrook for better or worse. And as much of me being a diehard Thunder fan, that maybe the team's Achilles heel, because how this team is now set up, it is served BEST to have a conservative traditional PG. And even with that, everyone to include Melo, that said they're going to continue to play the same way as before with Melo playing the 4. I dunno of that could work, but I hope for the best. I just feel it'll be a gain of ISSO's everywhere.

Russell is too high strung to do that. His motor is so high, that you can see he's thinking "drive to the basket. Drive to the basket. Drive to the basket. Shoot it." Constantly.

Honestly I'm not sure OKC is better than the Knicks after this trade. Their starting line up is a train wreck of egos and they have no bench. Knicks might legit whoop they ass.
