Knicks couldve done better than this too. They couldve gotten LMA from the Spurs. Spurs wouldve been a better fit possibly for Melo with Kawhi there. Knicks werent interested in LMA because he plays more similar to KP. this is why Kanter fits best...even though LMA was theirs to be had and is a better player. also people think that LMA has lost a step and they may be mistaken.

MELO HAS A NO TRADE CLAUSE.

THE SPURS WERENT ON HIS LIST.

Warriors Thunder WCF anyone ??? :leon:

we still dont have enough to beat the warriors

The key to beating the warriors is a legit center. Someone like even like Drummond, or especially Boogie or KAT + PG13 + Russ would get it done. Carmelo isnt the answer here, but helps vs other teams - I guess. Still think we are far away from Spurs and Warriors.

Nah OKC should be head and shoulders above the Spurs with that soft ass frontcourt duo. TP and Ginobili were both expected to retire this past season which says enough about them, and everybody else isn't really ready yet.

I'm thinking best teams in the West are

1. Golden State
2. OKC
3. Rockets/Spurs
4. Wolves

Wolves are the wildcard they can go anywhere from 1st all the way to 6th seed

I don’t think u need a legit center to beat them. But I do feel Steven Adams is going to be dominant this season on defense. Russ got to show he is willing to sacrifice his numbers for 2 potential HOF’ers

Has everybody forgotten these 4 key things:

1. Melo can't come up big in key Playoff games. He's a ballhog who can't kill. His Defense is non-existent. He looks amazing in offseason games with nothing on the line or in the 1 game per season before the All-Star game where he goes off.

But a Playoffs Game 7 needs more than you hogging the ball, ignoring players who are feeling it (he infamously screwed the Knicks by shooting bricks in the 4th quarter when JR and Schumpf were on fire in the 3rd quarter.. they lost that decisive Playoff game).

Short version: nikka can't deliver when it matters. Great offensive player when it doesn't matter.

2. Paul George has a horrendous record in Playoff crunch time.

I read a stat in the last playoffs: Paul George is 0-of-15 when the game is under 30 seconds and the difference in points is less than 3 points. Translation: nikka can sit up there all day talking abou 'I should have taken that shot' but the FACTS are that he really should not take those shots.

Short version: nikka can't deliver when it matters. Great offensive player when it doesn't matter.

3. Westbrook mixes with PG13 and Melo 13 like a t-shirt can mix well with a wall...

This is going to get hella ugly in the Playoffs.

They may light up the Clippers during the regular season, but in the Playoffs when an already badly organized offense is even more out of whack.. this won't work.

4. Donovan runs an offensive that can literally be described as 'Pass to Russ, pray Roberson hits a free throw'. There's no system. Their last games showed some of the ugliest basketball all year. We all love Westbrook's game, but the Thunder has no strategy and they don't have a plan.. also on Defense..

This will get ugly.

There will not be a Thunder Warriors final, and if that miraculous situation happens: sweep time. But it will never get that far.
As one of the leaders in the Anti-Melo brigade here on the coli.

This is a fukking TERRIBLE post :mjlol:

Grizzly Adams, though not necessarily a scorer like Boogie or Kat is a legit center. I would be more concerned about playmaking and shooting than anything. OKC defense is solid, they just never had offensive fire power outside of Russ last year. And I don't think it has to come for the 5 for them to be effective. OKC is still lacking the type of depth that make GSW such a fukking mountain to climb.

You do need a dominant inside presence. Maybe not a center but you need a guy who demands double teams inside in a halfcourt setting. You aren't beating the Warriors outshooting them, you need to slow the game down so they can't get out on the break and punish them.

I don't understand why people feel they need to play like the Warriors to beat the Warriors.

This joke has been outdated for years. Breh has been in great shape. Also didn't he play alot of 4 in Denver?

No, the whole idea of melo being a four is silly as fukk. Pg need to move to the two like he was gonna have to do.
when granger was the second guy at the three.
That bird ramped after jalen rose in Indy.
Melo is a three and one of the higher bball IQ and pedigree guys. Plus he back home. Where he started in the west. Where hopefully the narrative switches back to him being dominant again.

Lol at nyer's and Phil Jackson hating so hard. That it devalued Melo to the point even Steven a had to say the knicks neg based pr.
made it so they could never get a good offer for Melo.
Serves them right and glad the knicks got a open box of used tampons and half used band aids in exchange for Melo.

Ny gon live in shame.
