The Coli is a place where people LOVE to make an input without doing their homework. Melo isn't going anywhere unless he wants to go, and from all the signs, homie is content on trying to make it work here. And I don't understand why you can't build around Melo or KP.

Thing is who do you add that is available and willing to come that puts you as a legitimate contender in the east at this stage in his career which is win now mode?

If no one comes then what assets do you have to trade to build around him? (Other than KP who's not going anywhere )

Its a tough spot to be in thats why many advocate trading him and building around KP by flipping and or building on those assets that you aquire from trading melo.

if phil was interested in a complete rebuild, he shouldnt let melo walk last summer
he wasn't.
he resigned him and made promises to bring talent to the team
he hasnt done that yet
so yes, phil has gotta do something

zingis is not going anywhere
melo has about 3 years left at playing at a high level
mayb 2
build a team around him without sacrificing too much long term
don't give up any more draft picks
theres more than enough talent and trades out there to be made if phil does his job and falls back on his ego

if it doesn't work, you do do a complete rebuild with zingis in 2-3 years
if he's even worthy of it
if you think players are coming to the knicks to play with porzongis right now, you are on crack
it might be different 2 years from now, if he establishs himself as a star and has some playoff runs in him with melo and other talented players

we still have no idea i how good this kid zingis really is
lost in all the phil/melo drama is how poorly he has been playing as of late
hasnt had a double double in almost 2 months
i don't have to tell you how many rookies have had standout first years and did nothing afterwards

we can't jump to conclusions about him, or put too much pressure on him. hes struggled in games melo hasn't played
melo is here, players like him, phil should be using that to his advantage

What free agents that will be available over the next 2 years do you think will help make the Knicks contenders?

Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks have a mutual out clause after the 16-17 season.

Jackson asked for the out clause for the summer of 2017 because of the possibility of the work stoppage, but both sides also understood a no-fault out clause would also benefit both parties.

There is a possibility of Jackson returning to the Los Angeles Lakers depending on what happens with Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak.

Melo basically gonna trade Phil Jackson outta New York before he agrees to leave NY market :francis:

That's the end game.. I have yet to have someone come up with a reasonable/realistic scenario that makes the Knicks title contenders before Melo is :flabbynsick:.

Y'all just assume this shyt. Melo has never given any indication that he wants to be anywhere but New York, in fact it's been the complete opposite. Hell, if he wanted to be in any of these places, he WOULD have been already.
You're making the same assumptions. It's been well documented he almost chose Chicago. Straight from Melos mouth.

Now that he got his full max, which only the Knicks could offer at the time, it makes perfect sense to be traded.
