what is so good about the "NY market"Phil Jackson and the New York Knicks have a mutual out clause after the 16-17 season.Melo basically gonna trade Phil Jackson outta New York before he agrees to leave NY market
Jackson asked for the out clause for the summer of 2017 because of the possibility of the work stoppage, but both sides also understood a no-fault out clause would also benefit both parties.
There is a possibility of Jackson returning to the Los Angeles Lakers depending on what happens with Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak.

the rules always change when it comes to the melo
must be a white ppl thing
melo is pretty much garnett in minnesota
a lot of first round exit, no star players around him, and the one year they did get him some players (sprewell cassell for garnett/ billups, chandler kidd etc for melo)
he went to the conference finals or had a mvp calibar season (both happened for garnett)
i guess garnett was a loser until he teamed up with pierce and ray allen
ppl just refuse to comprehend that no matter how good you are, you aren't going anywhere without a properly constructed team
especially in the west
lebron and bosh played in the EAST and still teamed up to win a ring
bosh couldnt even past first round in east or make playoffs consistently
wade passed first round once in his life without having shaq or lebron on his team
ppl will say everyone in the top 5 has a ring and except melo like 3 of the 4 didn't team up and act like darko wasn't a complete bum who contributed nothing
hate on the man for not leaving the knicks for a better situation if you want, but out of 13 seasons, i can say about 10 of those teams have been trash

LeBron's team made it to the finals with Eric Snow and Sasha Pavlovic starting as their backcourt, don't compare the two of these dudes.
The problem with people who defend Melo like this is that yall just throw all basketball reason out the window and focus on his scoring only, meanwhile the league is changing and moving away from the type of player he is, which is an isolation scorer. He's 2nd in the league in isolation plays, Harden is 1. And unlike Harden, he's not a very good passer, he has the ball entirely too much to not even average 5apg, too many wasted possessions with everyone standing around watching him knowing he's not going to pass. The best teams in the league move the ball now, the Raptors being the exceptions.
Nobody can ever explain how to build a team around Melo, the only success he's ever really had is when his team was full of guys that would do the dirty work for him, and that kind of team will not work in the NBA today.

Carmelo has been in the East how many years now? How many times has he made it out the first round in the weak east? The East is getting much better as he's getting older, so you mean to tell me he's going to make this team a contender on the wrong side of 30, when he couldn't do it in his late 20s? The Celtics, Cavs, Hornets, Bucks, Pistons, Pacers, Raptors etc all have younger cores that either have 1 player better than him, a group of players that work better, or a player on the same level, but the Knicks are gonna be better than all these squads next year?
