nikkas that run their mouth about 'empty stats' don't know what they're talking about. Hitting open shots aint 'empty'. In MN when he was the focal point of the offense MN's starting 5 was top 5 in the league by most measures. They had THE worst bench in the league and were hit hard with injuries which is why they never made the playoffs, plus the West was much tougher than the East. Love can absolutely be a #1 option for a playoff team, he just can't be #1 for a championship team these days. He also needs to play next to a rim protector.
Adding PG is probably a wash or a negative offensively for the 1st unit because he's not the spacer that Love is and is a bit redundant with LeBron. That said he's good enough as the quasi 4 for them to still be excellent offensively and he can definitely anchor a 2nd unit while holding up defensively which lets LeBron play fewer minutes. Defensively he's a big upgrade not only in versatility but because he can guard the other teams best perimeter player. All the sudden the Cavs can have Bron, PG/ Tristan and JR/Shump which is a pretty good defensive unit even with Kyrie out there.
