hours worked means nothing if u still get your work done.
Bruh, I mean I'm assuming this is some shytty call center job or something because if they have 200 people to group fire without accounting for their individual jobs or circumstance they are most likely in some sort of group where number of bodies matter and it's remote, making me think these are call center folks.

So they aren't like professional employees who are measured based on meeting deadlines but instead strictly hours clocked. Any company is going to feel some type of way if they are paying you by the hour and you ain't doing shyt for hours paid. They could be not taking as many calls or going on breaks more than normal and shyt.

Even in professional salaried positions, your management is going to be tight if you are spending a lot of time doing nothing. The unsaid rule there is if you don't have shyt to do, find some shyt to do to fill your time.

Like I said, I see plenty of WFH folks be like " shyt I spent all 8 hours playing video games and barely doing shyt. This is glorious". These folks might finally had to pay the piper.

Most jobs don't necessitate a full 8 hours of work anyway. I wfh and my job is done after 1 hour on most days. Minus all of his stupid and pointless meetings I doubt the CEO works more than 2 hours per day himself.

I love working from home full time. in the office we used to have 3+ meetings every day. at home, I might have 5-6 meetings total per week. so I can get more shyt done without all the constant interruptions to have meetings.

I work in IT and whenever companies want to invent a reason to reduce headcount. They start spying on employees then making up shyt to get rid of people. The majority of the time is always questionable shyt. That even Management themselves are guilty of doing. They'll change the rules on what's allowed just to shape the narrative that layoffs are necessary. When in actuality layoffs are because they fukked up and lost a ton of money. So to fill that hole they slash payroll because it's the easiest and fastest thing to do.

I can understand that as well

but for a startup like better.com not u, me or others is going to go with a 7 year old new company compared to someone with 100 years in the business, especially dealing with homes

Garg told Fortune that four weeks ago the firm started reviewing employee productivity data, including missed telephone call rates, number of inbound and outbound calls, employees showing up late to meetings with a customer, and other metrics.

'As we started to slow down our pace of hiring, we saw some alarming statistics and a number of our customers were not getting the service that they deserved from our teammates,' he said.
Can't cry you want these companies to utilize the tech, value your time, be more efficient, etc..etc.. then when they turn around and use that same tech against you, cry foul when it points out you're being a crappy employee.
