Greed with no security.

Thats why I give props to blue collar workers in a union. I work for the government doing budgetary work, but I turn down offers from private practices all the time, cause a higher salary ain't worth the lack of job security. Cant build a life with something that can be yanked from me because of ANYTHING OTHER than a doing my job properly.

Just a glimpse of what the future will look like

Then that is no future.

Wonder why these white collar careers are now vacant? Cause its pointless to try to build something that will be taken away from you abruptly. Workers now know that, and stepping away from these private companies.

Funny how virtually no white-collar professions are unionized.

Greed with no security.
I’ve always assumed it was because white collar jobs are seen as more individualistic.

Traditional blue collar jobs are rooted in family history for generations and are the foundation of this economy, hence the need for unions as they have a history of being exploited.

White collar jobs, not as much. I could be wrong though, just my theory.

White collar union jobs would be super popular, and everyone would fight to get into them. Which would force all other white collar professions to do the same.

With three weeks to go before Christmas you’re fired
I remember having to fire a close friend a few weeks before Christmas. Probably the hardest thing I ever had to do. Shorty was crying and begging for us to keep her on the payroll and saying she'll take a lesser position in another department. It was a fukked up situation where I was moving and her new manager hated her and refused to take over my position unless the company fired her. I had fought to save her job before but knew my hands were tied in this situation.

Took everything I had not to break down crying myself. This dude was just like "let's hope I handle this ok".

The thing is though, especially in today’s society, it’s easier to outsource white collar jobs to Asia for example. With blue collar jobs, I would imagine it’s more difficult, especially if it requires a skill/trade.

Lesson to them, Ain’t no friends in corporate America. All this “family” talk is bullshyt. Get as much money as you can from these companies and don’t be afraid to jump ship. I want to reach a level where they can fire me and I’ll gladly leave with one of those corporate golden parachutes so I can retire.

Not going to happen.

They will make sure you wont ever get those benefits at any point in your career.

At this point, outside of government, better be a unionized trade worker. Private corporate environment ran its course.

That was probably the most efficient 'stand up' way to do it. I’ve worked at a company before where several people got laid off.
They did it in groups of 15-20 people. As soon as group 1 was done with their meeting word got out we were being laid off, so everybody knew what was going on. It was still torture waiting your turn.

Auschwitz style yikes :scust:
