2000-2008 was pretty shytty. Those Celtics - Lakers Finals are what restored tha feeling
Yeah 07/08 was pretty much the comeback season and what kicked off the era we're in now. Play quality took a big step forward, a ton of teams and players emerged, the lakers were good again, and a great finals. That was the year where the West was crazy as hell with the top 6 seeds all winning 54-57 games and none of them even clinched a playoff spot until it was 2 weeks left in the season:whew:. Golden State missed the playoffs with 48 wins:whew:

Has anyone bothered to actually listen to his comments in full context or just go by that isolated quote and quickly reply? Don't worry, I know the answer....

He actually makes valid points about the over-reliance on 3 pointer and the marginalization of big men in today's game.

But he's dead wrong about teams not shooting the 3-ball well outside of a few talented squads:

Teams have literally never shot the ball better than they are this season, and this is only 2 months in. This is shaping up to be the most efficient scoring season in league history, but Chuck here talking about how nobody can shoot:gucci:

But Charles Barkely is talking about competition from 1 to 8 in each conference. At least we know Lakers and Celtics earned their spot in the Finals at those times

Same thing I'm thinking. it's going to be a sleep walk for both the Warriors and the cavs for time to come because regardless of how Houston/San Antonio/Toronto/Atlanta/Los Angeles clippers play, they are not making it out of their respective conferences. I think that's what chuck is trying to say. Yea you had Jordan back then but different teams came out the west. Now it's like you know who is going from both conferences. That's was the turning point when Kevin Durant joined the Warriors. We know Lebron was coming out the east but KD assures the Warriors baring injury trade or free agency move, will come out the west. It's the 80s again but the celtics and lakers never saw each other 3 times in a row. There were always teams in between. I don't think Lebron loses hold on the east anytime soon and again, baring injury trade or free agency move, the Warriors will have a hold on the west. The new Cba is also trying to keep new super teams from forming to challenge these two as well.

If Jordan didn't retire he would have been going to 6 straight Finals and 6 peated...

Would people bytch about how weak the Eastern conference was then or will just give Jordan and The Bulls their props
I think you mean 8 straight

Yeah let's go back to the 90's when the Bulls and Rockets combined for 8/10 titles in the decade. Or the 80s where the champion was a flip of the coin between the Celtics and Lakers. Do these old nikkas even think? :mjlol:
