This ain't the 80's Chuck. Or the 90's. Or the early 00's

Ain't nobody trying to Iverson their way to a ship cus that shyt doesn't work. :francis:

As a matter of fact...have we ever considered that the state of the league is kind of OUR fault as a fanbase? How we clowned the Iverson's and Barkley's for not winning one?

Now all the top talent is like"Fvck that, I'm not going out without a ring :umad:"

We might have caused this brehs:lupe:

Has anyone bothered to actually listen to his comments in full context or just go by that isolated quote and quickly reply? Don't worry, I know the answer....

He actually makes valid points about the over-reliance on 3 pointer and the marginalization of big men in today's game.

Would over-reliance on backing a nikka down for 15 second be better? Would the days of 88-83 scores returning be better? Would the days of "whatever team Jordan or Dream is on" winning be better? Would having one star per team and the one team with two stars running rough shot make it better? Big man are marginalizing themselves because they aren't putting in the work. Smaller players that actually put in the work are doing their jobs better than them. Only valid point he made was that teams that don't have shooters shouldn't be chucking up threes like the Warriors but who exactly does that apply to?

I'll take higher percentage shots anyday. Teams playing inside-out>>>>perimeter players dribbling for 20 seconds then chucking up a shots

Ugly games happen sometimes when you're actually allowed to play defense unlike this pussified stuff that's going on today. Left up to the league every game would be 120-118.

Would the days of "whatever team Jordan or Dream is on" winning be better?

The Sonics, Knicks, Jazz, Heat, Suns, Pacers, etc. were all contenders during the 90s and had MVP winners/ candidates. These teams played competitively and made MJ and them earn their shyt. Not like this cakewalk today where we can call both conferences at the beginning of the season.

Jordan and Pippen, Stockton and Malone, Barkley and Johnson, GP and Kemp, Ewing and Starks...most contending teams had 2 stars during that time. If anything, there are more teams in today's NBA with 1 star (Cousins, AD, Lillard, Westbrook, etc.) while most of the Superstars are clicked up on 4 teams.

That's not what I asked you...would you rather see dudes backing cats down for 15 seconds? You can play inside out without that.

So the league was pussified from it's inception through the early 90s (including Barkley's early career)?

The Bulls went 15-3, 15-2, 15-4 (twice) in different seasons. They had 3 game 7s in 6 chip seasons and never got pushed to 7 in the Finals. They still managed to win 55 games and push the Knicks to 7 without Mike. This myth that things were so much more competitive back then needs to stop. NBA has always been top heavy.

How about the era after that aka what I was referencing? Wait a minute...you listed John Starks as a star? :dead:.

It does feel like the Warriors vs the cavs will be a foregone conclusion for the finals. With Jordan he had lakers blazers suns supersonics then the jazz two times. The next year it was the Spurs and Houston had those 2 years in 94 and 95 but I had expected Shaq and penny magic for 95. Now it's like Warriors and whatever team Lebron is on. I don't expect to see the Spurs rockets okc or clippers making an appearance. I damn sure don't think any team in the east not named Cleveland Cavaliers is making it
Trailblazers were not a finals contender after 1992.

Jazz weren't a contender until 1996.

Sonics ceased being s contender after 1996.

Stop it. :camby:

That's not my point idiot

Blazers came out the west in 92

Jazz came out the west 97 and 98

Sonics in 96

Jordan didn't face the same team 3 times in a row and the jazz didn't come out the west in 99 it was the Spurs. Who's coming out the west for the next few years? It ain't the spurs
:camby:It's lebron vs the Warriors for a couple of years baring any major changes.
