:whoa: Cats like him have their place in hip hop. nikkas go wild when this come on in the club.

Like I said, I like Keef personally. I bump the sht outta April fools (i like his aggressive, dont give a fck street sht which reminds me of the cats I used to grow up listening to as a shorty).

But objectively speaking, Keef is a horrific rapper. Horrific rappers tend to have a burst in popularity, and a short shelf life, so for him personally I see the writing on the wall. In recent years, Keef and others like Flocka, Gucci, ext have benefitted from a complete lowering of the bar of lyricism. With this salvo fired by kendrick, you wonder how much tolerance there is gunna be, from a wide range of fans, for rappers who rap like english is their second language from now on. Not everyone is gunna rap like Lupe now, but idiot rap is gunna struggle more than it has in the past few years, imo.

Let's not put Flocka in that category, breh. He may not be a lyrical genius but he has incredible energy and shows some good versatility with collabs :leon:

as for the rest... the dominance of trap is an illusion. Trap albums sell like 50k brehs. All the sensitive ass faggit rappers like Wale, J. Cole, etc are the ones selling the most. You might hear some Juicy J in the club, but that shyt doesnt even have really impressive radio penetration. White stations dont play it.

A lot of niccas been in the game for a while...but Gucci only had a year or two when he was a bankable star. I'll admit, him falling off had a lot to do with personal problems, but cats who cant rap seem to have a hard time maintaining popularity.

A lot of this shyt in this thread is too much. Keef fans are either trollin or idiots.

And I'm not much of a fan of Gucci, but he's a lot more talented than people give him credit for.

Man, i fukk with drill music, HARD..most of the stuff I listen to is coming outta the chicago drill scene.. but just stop.. man.. plz

being able to make an album that makes you bop up and down and have catchy hooks and ad libs does NOT mean you are better..

that would be like saying ying yang twins are better than big l lol

too soon biscuits, to soon :to:

We'll have to agree to disagree...Ill admit, Im biased when it comes to that time period because I was hot at mainstream rap, and wasnt fckin with none of them niqqas. I would just listen to my lil underground rap cats, and keep it pushin. From like 05-10, I was a miserable, angry rap fan nicca. D4L, Gucci, Waka, Young Dro, Durrough, ying yang, Soulja, that ugly nicca that rapped silly, Snap, trap, clap pop, twerk, jerk, purp, ext, ext...they were all the same to me. I felt under pressure, doggy. I was mad as sht.

I got a much more open mind, and I listen to mainstream type sht a lot now.

Gucci isn't interested in being a mainstream star and rappin for the white folks.

his legacy is in tact and he made more money indie & underground than most dudes make on a major.

that's all its really about.

lol @ Gucci only being a bankable star for a year or two. yall buggin out in here.

Did this nikka just compare Chief Keef to 2Pac. :laff:

you laughing, but one fact that even you can't deny is that chief keef,at 17, was really living that thug life that pac rapped about..meanwhile, when pac was 17,he was a extra sugary, soft n sweet ass boy in ballerina school
