Uhh, society is like that now. How many of these "gangsta" rappers you gonna see under the age of 35 these days? Thanks to technology, gentrification, and the nu age hipsters that rather have fun than catch a body, you gonna see this as the norm nowadays. From 88-07, you had that "edge" of gangsta rappers, but that era is long past over.

I C/S 100% lol

i really started listening to rap seriously in 88, so to grow up with hiphop for all these years, and then to see it reduced to what it is today is damn near depressing..and im not talking about just gangsta rap, im talking about the whole picture in general

I would say 88-05

koonye verses sound like a ho who copped a star map on hollywood blvd and is going sight seeing..

Ate breakfast at Gucci
My girl a superstar all from a home movie
Bow on our arrival the unamerican idols
What nikkas did in Paris got em hanging off the Eiffel
Yeah I’m talking business
We talking CIA
I’m talking George Tenet
I seen him the other day
He asked me about my Maybach
Think he had the same
Except mine tinted and his might have been rented
You know white people get money don’t spend it
Or maybe they get money, buy a business
I rather buy 80 gold chains and go ig’nant
I know Spike Lee gon kill me but let me finish
Blame it on the pigment, we living no limits
Them gold master p ceilings was just a figment
Of our imagination, MTV cribs
Now I’m looking at a crib right next to where TC lives
That’s Tom Cruise, whatever she accuse
He wasn’t really drunk he just had a few brews
Pass the refreshment a cool cool beverage
Everything I do need a news crew presence
Speed Boat swerve homie, watch out for the waves
I’m way too black to burn from sun rays
So I just meditated the home in Pompeii
About how I could build a new Rome in one day
Every time I’m in Vegas they screaming like he’s Elvis
But I just wanna design hotels and nail it
shyt is real got me feelin’ Isrealian
Like Bar Refaeli Gisele, no that's Brazilian

:heh: @ this nonsense

and then theres the "deep" content on drakes most popular song this year..

2 Chainz and champagne
You want true, that's true enough
Forbes list like every year
My office is my tour bus
She came through, she brought food
She got fukked, she knew wassup
She think I'm the realest out
And I say "damn, that makes two of us"
Aww that look like what's her name
Chances are it's what's her name
Chances are, if she was acting up
Then I fukked her once and never fukked again
She could have a Grammy, I still treat her ass like a nominee
Just need to know what that p*ssy like so one time it's fine with me
Young as an intern, with money like I built the shyt
Streets talking that confirm
Go ask them who just catch shyt
Stay keeping my cup full so I'm extra charged like a state tax
Me an' Chainz go way back
We don't talk shyt, we just say facts (Yes Lord)

ook inside my soul and you can find gold and maybe get rich
Look inside of your soul and you can find out it never exist
I can feel the changes
I can feel a new life
I always knew life can be dangerous
I can say I like a challenge and you to me is painless
You don't know what pain is
How can I paint this picture
When the color blind is hanging with ya
Fell on my face and I woke with a scar
Another mistake living deep in my heart
Buried on top of my sleeve in a flick
I can admit that it did look like yours
Why you resent every making of this
Tell me your purpose is petty again
But even a small lighter can burn a bridge
Even a small lighter can burn a bridge

[Hook 1:]
I can feel the changes
I can feel the new people around me just want to be famous
You can see that my city found me put me on stages
To me that's amazing
To you that's a quick check, with all disrespect let me say this

[Hook 2:]
I am a sinner
Who is probably going to sin again
Lord forgive me
Lord forgive me
Things I don't understand
Sometimes I need to be alone
bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe
I can feel your energy from two planets away
I got my drink I got my music I will share it but today I'm yelling
bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe

[Verse 2:]
I'm trying to keep it alive and not compromise the feeling we love
You trying to keep it deprived and only co-sign what radio does
And I'm looking right past ya
We live in a world, we live in a world on two different axles
You live in a world, you living behind the mirror
I know what you scared of, the feeling of feeling emotions inferior
This shyt is vital, I know you had to
This shyt is vital, I know you had to
Die in a pitiful vain, tell me a watch and a chain
Is way more believable, give me a feasible gain
Rather a seasonal name, I'll let the people know this is something you can blame
On yourselves you can remain, stuck in a box
Ima break out and then hide every lock
Ima break out and then hide every lock

[Hook 2:]
I can feel the changes
I can feel the new people around me just want to be famous
You can see that my city found me put me on stages
To me that's amazing
To you that's a quick check, with all disrespect let me say this

[Hook 1:]

I got my drink I got my music I will share it but today I'm yelling
bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe

[Bridge:]
You ain't heard a chorus like this in a long time
Don't you see that long line
And they waiting on Kendrick like the 1st and the 15th
3's in the air I can see you are - in sync
Hide your feelings, hide your feelings now what you better do
I'll take your girlfriend and put that p*ssy on a pedestal
bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe
Walk out the door and they scream it's alive
My new year's resolution is to stop all the pollution
Talk too motherfukking much, I got my drink I got my music
I say - bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe
bytch don't kill my vibe

btw, nikkas been waring in the street over gang shyt back when donny hathaway the ghetto was pumping in nikkas coup de villes

so can we stop acting like rap is what bringing gang violence to the streets? if nobody ever rapped again it would still be war in the streets because all of the elements it takes to create gangs and violence and ignorance still will plague the community.

poverty, lack of employment, terrible education, black churches that hold no one accountable for wrong doing, youth being raised by no father, or 2 parents who havent grown up they damn self. all these things will still exist, those things are the roots, gang shyt are the branches and leaves.

So 24/7 bang bang drill music isn't part of the problem in Chicago?

no especially when the issue was present decades before beng beng music came about, and will still be here when chief keef is doing his own reality show and he has 11 kids and 10 baby mothers living in his apartment with him.

you change the other issues that are the roots and acts like keef and whoever else becomes novelty acts in the grand scheme of things.

While true, we're kidding ourselves if we don't think the present day rap environment is glorifying the shyt and making it seem cool even moreso than back then. If we take rap out of the equation it would still be fukked up, but with rap as part of the equation (that type of rap anyway) it makes it even worse.

You're one of the weakest trolls the internet has ever seen.
1. Drake doesn't discuss social issues, he discusses personal issues.
See Poetic Justice for reference.

2. Kanye West has an unlimited amount of subjects on his songs.
Obviously not too many discussing gang violence, cause Kanye wasn't too involved in that as Kendrick ('s family).
See Kanyes whole discography for reference.

3. Kanye and Drake has about 10 times more and better party, clubs hits which are the ones you are quoting. You are meant to be faded as fukk rapping a long to those lyrics.
See Drake murking K.dot on fukking Problems for reference.

Bullshyt. That music in Chicago is glorifying this shyt. Celebrating death. Garbage in, garbage out. Of course there are other factors, but its crazy to claim the gang music in Chicago isn't fueling much of this carnage we are witnessing.

Perfect analysis . I said this in the other thread comparing the two . Drake raps about personal stuff relationships fame growing up his past , he can only rap about what he knows . That doesn't lessen the impact of his lyric they are just two different rappers with different subject matters .
And about Kanye did this guy not hear college dropout ? Or late registration? He touched on alot of personal and deep stuff .
