300 murders a year
Bullshyt. That music in Chicago is glorifying this shyt. Celebrating death. Garbage in, garbage out. Of course there are other factors, but its crazy to claim the gang music in Chicago isn't fueling much of this carnage we are witnessing.

mental sickness rooted from all those other elements is the cause of everything. this is always considered when a white dude shoots up a school, but when it comes to gang violence the public just wants to chalk it up to rap music, the attitude of the present generation and throw it in the bushes

conditioning + circumstance will always contribute to the actions of the person. the music is nothing but the reflection. all the youngsters who are into the music are nothing more than the group of people who already suffer from the sickness. if it wasnt keef it would be another trap/drill rapper. it does not matter, they just a piece of the whole jacked up puzzle

its really as simple as biggie put it, these dudes cant rap about what they are not familiar with. if you from a hood, you grow up in violence. you see nothing but liquor stores and cell phone shops with barber shops and beauty salons. you are conditioned to believe that since you are from that area this is how you act out.

go to any predominantly white school, the sickness is there as well, but it is reflected in a different manner because those people feel privileged.hell young white kids probably listen to more rap music than most of us on here. yet they not acting out on it, why? because their parents have productivity happening in their lives. they are taught that since they are from their area they have opportunities and something to look forward to. they have educational systems that teach them properly and prepare them for leadership rather inner city school systems who just teach these kids how to pass test so the funding can continue coming from the government.

when we can get past the chief keef shyt and understand is much bigger than him, and stop with the head shaking and understand them shorties aint shyt but victims of they environment, then all of this will make sense.

but since the problems are plaguing the community carry no weight with literally anybody anymore, and the acceptance of homosexuality seems to have more of a concern in this country than how black kids getting education, then we can expect a lot more years of this.

i wasn't comparing them in the lyrical sense, i was comparing him with ye & drake in terms of succeeding while not being afraid to be themselves, even if its against the norm..

if kendrick came out in the 90's, he would've, at best, had only the level of success that the pharcyde had, which wasn't all that bad, but they're not the 1st rappers that come to mind when you think of LA rappers..

a lot of the negative hip hop music makes it worse... it's like a cycle... but you're right, the music is not the cause and all the happy music in the world won't fix the issue.....

basically. A positive rapper that isn't all about hoes, luxury cars, and money, that is from LA, on top of an image of a little kid seemed impossible for Kendrick to rise above. He did it somehow, and he is-believe it or not-an inspiration of hope for all young MCs that want to go down that path of positivity.
