@hex when you say 30k residents, is that the immediate P&L area or the broader downtown area? I’m only asking cause it’s barely a thousand residential units in the district.

I didn't just mean residents, I mean everyone.

For example, the H&R Block corporate headquarters on 13th and Main has 1,500 emloyees.

Keep in mind the UMB Bank corporate headquarters is also down town.

There is an insane amount of people down there, not just visiting. Which is why the Chiefs sh*t is a no-go.

That's also why I was :dahell: when you cats are talking about it's a ghost town. The people leaving, going to work, and/or on their breaks eating at various spots is a problem with out even taking into account random ass people visiting.

Does anybody else find it kinda confusing that Missouri got a city named Kansas

I just always assumed the chiefs and royals was in Kansas

I say all that to say, where was this effort to keep the st.louis sports teams

Kansas City, Missouri is named after the Kansa Indians and the Kansas river. It was a settlement near both. It actually existed 20+ years before the state of Kansas.

Kansas City, Kansas exists because a smaller settlement wanted to capitalize off the name and success of Kansas City, Missouri.

It’s crazy that the side that barely has anything going for it is the *side the general public knows. Kansas is the Milli Vanilli of states. Especially if you don’t care about NASCAR. Even SKC was in MO first and still based there

How about a city in New Jersey named "West New York"?

I actually enjoy the simplicity of certain KS towns once you get past Johnson County. I say this as a mf who's lived in the state 3x and a slim chance I'll move back for a fourth
