They definitely should be able to get along peacefully. It's just that the U.S. and the major communist nations were / are rivals, and America is and has always been wary of rival nations increasing their influence globally since we're the big homies in these streets. And this is a fair assessment, but no one seems to keep that same energy when looking at US Vietnam War casualties.
All that being said, it's wild that the US and Vietnam are basically allies now, communism or not. Kinda proves the 2 systems should be able to coexist and intermingle without issue.

around 58k US deaths....Didn't brooklyn Vietnam also body the ol' US of A![]()

Arguably, communism would be more successful if specialized production of finished goods was outsourced to countries who did it better. For all of it's faults, specialization is one significant benefit of globalization and allows more players on the board. They definitely should be able to get along peacefully. No doubt they are different but VERY powerful I wouldnt say that yet, imo. China, for now, is only powerful on paper, simply because the only recent time they used their military in a significant conflict was to put down their own unarmed citizens during Tiananmen Square protests. But, as we see with Israel during the beginning of the attack on them and Russia, the readiness of your troops and how their training plays out in actual combat is unknown until they actually fight. Israel conscript army was looking very amateurish and disorganized during the beginning. Everyone knows how Russia is doing. Who knows how China actually performs in combat. That was ages ago, the chinese military is very powerful
Everyone spies on everyone though. even friends. Also, one way to look at this is that we just finished signing a new defense agreement with them. Vietnam, from their perspective, may have wanted to see what the Americans are thinking behind closed doors before trusting them fully going into any arrangement with them . shyt, it would almost be dumb for countries not to do that.yep...the USA isn't completely friends with them... but they're a good ally against china...

The targeting came as Vietnamese and American diplomats were negotiating a major cooperation agreement intended to counter growing Chinese influence in the region, when Vietnamese diplomats would have been particularly interested in Washington’s views on China and issues in Asia. President Biden signed the agreement in September during a visit to Vietnam.
This is not how you decide a winner in a war. It's not a MMA match.around 58k US deaths....

Of course they won. It was a victory won through politics not military. This is not how you decide a winner in a war. It's not a MMA match.
North Vietnam realized its political goal : they reunited the country under the red banner.
They won.
