I wouldn't questioning your knowledge of him, just that Cusack was being too over the top with it.
Pfleger has a tendency to be over the top when sermonizing so Cusack wasn't doing too much in the trailer/clip by comparison.

I been sticking up for Spike Lee/this movie heavy in this thread. I am a fan of A LOT of his previous work. But I might have to reverse myself, the first song for this movie is all types of terrible not only sonically but theme wise. I cannot co-sign.

I want to reserve judgment till I see the movie... can't neglect the fact that most of his classics came out before the internet age, and I don't recall ever getting hyped for a spike lee joint strictly off a trailer.
