My little sister passed from this 2 and a half yrs ago
Hope he ok, it's good thing they caught it and were able to get him to a hospital...
My father died from this, while he was in the hospital being treated a different issue. He was only 44.
Damn Jerome Kersey just died from this...
My Uncle who was like another father to me died from a PE in '10. Was never really sick a day in his life, came back from the movie on a Saturday night complaining of back pain and was dead Monday morning.
I hope its just the flu with Bosh, but the fact that he had a calf injury is what worries me.. Clots usually form in the legs before they travel to the lungs...
Not to derail, but to ALL of those who dapped or sent condolences, I appreciate yall for real. Thanks brehs. I lost 2 close friends this past week, one to asthma and the other one died due to this same thing Bosh has, both were under 40. Thanks again.
How does a young adult that is a professional athlete get this? Crazy
Scary....Get well soon.
Yep. It's pretty much no awareness about this unless it happens to you or someone close to you. Definitely scary to go through cause you go from feeling healthy to being told you have something life threatening in an instant.I almost died from this. It's a really awful experience mentally & physically.
Athletes fly so much, which is a huge risk factor, so I'm not surprised when this happens.
It could be any reason. Inactivity from staying in one place (which happens when flying), dehydration, smoking or being around smoke, some people have more of a tendency to clot, etc. Being an athlete doesn't mean you can't get blood clots.
As I said in the Jerome Kersey thread, there really needs to be more awareness about this. ANYBODY CAN GET IT. It doesn't matter if your a young athlete.
