doctors are lazy. they just want you in and out as fast as they can. they'll just do bare minimum testing to get you out.

a doctor misdiagnosed my grandma (had trouble with her lungs) with lung cancer , my mom decided to get a second opinion from another doctor a few days later and the doctor said he didn't know what the other doctor saw but there is no cancer.

Unfortunately this gets amplified with black patients. The NY times had a story about doctors misdiagnosing and giving lower doses of pain meds to black patients. I had an uncle die recently of a respiratory disease and his treatment seemed shoddy at best. Luckily Bosh has the money to avoid that and get the best treatment.

Heaven on Earth
Not to be a pessimist but with clots in both lungs he's not out of the woods yet..My uncle was laughing and eating in his hospital room the morning he died.. The clots are really hard to control and stabilize and the doctor he had described them as "little ticking time bombs"

I just remember being scared and worried, to relieved and comforted and then getting the call from my mom that he was dead.. All within a 24 hour period..

This is much deeper than him ever playing ball again.. I just hope for him and his family he makes it through..

I'm 100% sure Chris is getting the best treatment possible and i'm sure Miami staff/ organization is seeing to that.

Their is no way he will be on Coumadin ...shyt is rat poison:scust:.

I'm in ER now but when I was hospital I had em on scds or heparin shots.

Salute to y'all tho . Makin my job easier I don't like dealing with dose med calculations
They had my wife on that shyt to start, but then she got pregnant right after (no more birth control) and was switched to Lovonox right after. The injections were a pain to do twice a day, but if it's a safer drug why are people even prescribing Coumadin?

Coumadin's been around longer so clinicians are more comfortable using it, it costs less, and depending on what region you're in it may be easier to reverse in the case of bleeding depending on where you are (not so much an issue in North America). Also, Lovenox = injections rather than oral medication which many tend to prefer.

The injections part I can understand. I had to do them cause my wife wasn't able to do them herself. They didn't even mention alternatives until the pregnancy occurred, which was like 4 weeks later.
