I thought the consensus was that his biggest mistake was not shopping Luka to everyone :manny: no one kills Nico if he did the right thing and got a reasonable return
maybe. He still prolly gets backlash because the Mavs were a finals caliber roster. the plan was to just get more shooting around Luka, not trade luka. it's pretty much unprecedented to trade ur 20-someting year old superstar after a finals run

Nico was going to get killed either way. He traded the franchises best player after they went to the finals the year prior. Trading for Giannis would have brought the least backlash but the bucks were never gonna do that

Lakers have to package Reaves and picks in a trade to improve the roster.
Aint nobody giving you a lot for Reaves. Everyone knows he got a top 3 whistle in the league, that's what carries him, he get's it cause he in that LA market, and if you put him somewhere else he going to turn into Nick Stauskas overnight.

Reaves is destined to do exactly one thing. Sign a 200 million dollar contract with the Lakers and spend the next 5 years getting put in a blender by Harper and Castle.

Even if the refs miss a foul call that sends Gobert to the line, its never worth them challenging because they expect him to miss at least one :russ:

You just made my point tho, had he traded for a player of equal level people would've been salty but they wouldn't have gone as crazy as they did, giannis still an MVP level player and gives max effort, they woulda bought his jersey. They not telling Nico to leave if he brings Giannis 33/15 to that team

There are levels to fukking up

Not telling the rest of the league he was available was the one thing we never got even a HALF decent explanation for, atleast we got to see Luka be a complete liability on defense and kind of understand why that was an issue for them. There's no working logic to explain why secretly dealing with Pelinka made any type of sense

straight up trade for AD without anyone knowing is inexcusable

Reaves packaged with picks can improve the team.
