I wish we didn’t get two separate endings…..It’s such a tight narrative game all throughout, and having the Verso ending coming off as “good” is annoying to me. Both endings should be looked at as tragic. Also I selfishly want a sequel of the real world with writers vs painters.

Verso's ending, while tragic, was still the best outcome ultimately. If there had been another way to get that piece of his soul out of the canvas w/o destroying the entire thing, that would've been great, but once they revealed that bit of information, you already knew there would be no satisfying outcome. Rarely do you get 100% happy endings in these type of RPGs.

And I agree with a game based on the writers vs the painters.

I definitely think Verso‘s ending is the “correct” ending. I just wish artistically they made the ending less appealing in the aftermath. Like maybe get rid of the scene of the playable cast waving goodbye. At the end of the day a living world/universe was destroyed.

Yeah, they could've kept that considering how they actually went out. That was the part that really hurt, especially Lune. She was fukking PISSED. Just sat down and accepted her fate. Talking with Sciel at camp explained why she was chill, but Lune wanted to keep living. Hated that for her.

The fact that Maelle's opening phrase in battle, "let's spill some ink" is actually a huge spoiler you won't notice until it's time to is :wow:

I'm trying to play AC: Shadows and all I really want to do is run this back :noah:

This is wrong, his headstone says he was 26

Verso’s souls is depicted as a child in the painting because thats when he painted it, not when he died.

I’ll be honest, I picked Maelle for the fight almost immediately without even thinking too hard about it. I just knew I was riding with her and Lumiere til the end :birdman:

Running it back and going her route second really did Maelle no favors.:russ:

"Please make him stop painting! I don't want this life. I don't want this life. I don't want this life." :damn::mjcry::mjcry::mjcry:

Then the fukking jump scare of Maelle's face with Canvas Cancer after she brought everybody back and told Verso ass he was now Bob James?

Cold world.

Not sure why some people are convinced Verso’s soul in the painting is “real” but everyone else’s isn’t.

If you see morality in treating Verso’s soul with care then you just feel the same about everyone else in the painting.

No way Verso’s ending is the “correct” one.

It ain't the same. :manny:

This entire game could've been under the lens of the Writers instead of the Painters and the same rules would apply.

And it's not a question of being convinced that Verso's soul is real when it's actually established that it is. It's literally the only way the Canvas paintings can "come to life." No piece of soul added, no Lumiere.

I look at it like this: if their souls were real, they could be drawn out of the canvas. Since that wasn't the case. they aren't.

im still trying to understand what makes people think "i know verso has lied literally every 20 minutes and even legitimate demons know he's a fraud, but i trust him on what's important" because goddamn that is excellent narrative work fr

Verso can’t be drawn out of the canvas either.

His “soul” there is a construct just like all the others.

Kid Verso was his actual soul fragment, not the adult facsimile. It had been there since he was a child and had been painting within the canvas well after the rest of him grew up and grew out of painting. The canvas should've been destroyed as soon as he was officially done with it. It instead became a warzone because humans will forever have trouble processing and dealing with grief.

This doesn’t change what i said.

What was left of verso was no more or less “real” than anything else in the canvas.
